Ok we heard last year that the Caps underlying stats said they were worse than their record early on, and that the Pens were better than their record. What do those same stats say about Cbus?

That they're a good, but not great, team that's riding some exceptional goaltending and a much higher than expected shooting percentage and a red-hot powerplay.

That's what I thought, other than the PP since I hadn't looked at stats. Thanks.

Apparently NBCSN will air the BJs vs. Rangers on Saturday if the BJs win tonight. Ref conspiracies start now.

We are better hockey team. 11-1 Caps.

We may be the better hockey team, but (it hurts me to say this) our 5v5 system is garbage and our PP is awful.

The 5v5 system is not geared to the players...it's geared towards Trotz fear of mistakes. The PP is so static and forced. When was the last time we hit OV's wheelhouse with any consistency or see Carlson not standing still killing any attempt to build rhythm or flow at the point? I could finish my PhD thesis while he holds the puck.

Phew, I feel better now. Go Caps. 2-1 W in a snoozefest

I can't recall caring much about a game vs Cbus, except maybe for some revenge game when some guys were playing chippy. Maybe last year or the year before.

I'm not on the "refs hate us so much" bandwagon like others, but that pass that sprung Foligno was clearly too many men for CBJ

That feels good.

Schmidt is the greatest player of all time he created that because he could make Lidstrom look like Mike Weber
