I don't know that he has the track record to get 5x5. If he really wants term I could see it being in the lower 4M range actually.
It’s the Joey D’accord contracts that sticks out that other goalies are going to want to replicate. Daccord had basically one season of 50 games. His entire career before the xtension was 69 games.

Any guess for the Blackwood extension?

Joey Daccord got 5 X 5 so I'm guessing it's going to be in the same ballpark
Daccord is an interesting comparable.

Both are 28 but Blackwood has more than double (219) the NHL starts comparared to Daccord (92).

Daccord has a career .908 sv% and 2.70 GAA.

Blackwood has a career .905 sv% and 3.05 GAA.

I’m guessing 4 years/$19M.
Guessing 4 years x $5m-5.25m

He's rumored to value term, which lines up with Cmacs strategy of late.

I'm guessing low 4s, 6 years.

I am happy he is signed long term. I guess the Avs value an emotionally and technically stable goalie. Apparently, you can't take that kind of stuff for granted.

Not that I mind. But haven't the Avs been targeting 5Mish as the combined cost for both goalies? That's going to be 6.75M for the lumberyard next season. I think this is an acknowledgment that they weren't spending enough for a good starter but I wonder how much this may impact the Mikko negotiations.

Yeah the time they won was when they had 2 well-liked goalies like Kuemper & Francouz. The rest of the time we had guys that the team didn't care for or that were quick to throw the team under the bus while never taking any blame.

It probably won't impact the Mikko negotiations much at all. Once they sign Rantanen it'll be the likes of Wood, Colton, Manson, Malinski, etc who feel the cap crunch.

Extend Georgiev for one more season, convince Askarov not to lose his mind too much with a season of tanking.

Imagine Schaefer + McKenna added to that group.

Georgiev for an extra year? Yea, he could destroy that locker room with his attitude and play. Shoudn't poison everyone, just get rid of him ASAP if you're SJS.

I have a feeling they trade him at the deadline

If they can they should. I don't see anyone biting.

To their farm team via waivers?

What crazy ass NHL team would trade for Georgiev and believe he can help them make the playoffs in 2025 the year of our Lord?

If someone acquires him to be a back up, that GM hasn't done his homework.
