Have to wait for the full details. That makes no sense from CHIs point of view. Hall is obviously not going to bring back anything significant, even if CHI retained half his deal, but Hall at 3M has mid-round pick value on his own. To retain half of Rantanen's deal and move Hall while only getting a third? I find that hard to believe.

Call me a gambler, but if that's all there is to this trade? I'd gamble sitting on Hall at the deadline to see of someone pays or overpays as much. If they don't? Big deal, you didn't get a 3rd while retaining 5 million.
