Would love to see black jerseys return with the white on road requirement dropped. Black on the road would look amazing against red and other lighter teams: NSH, PHI, VGK

I'm not sure what there is to "hate" but to each his own. I like them, not for a steady diet but on occasion.

You may be one of the only people I've ever seen make that statement, honestly.

The OG black is the perfect complement to the red and white, and is great to mix in throughout the season for 10-15 games.

They said not this year and likely not next year either. But yea potentially after that they'll be back. NHL still crossing the i's and dotting the t's with Fanatics.

I only skimmed the articles about it, but they all say things like:

"It wasn’t specific on when this was happening but it did say that it would be soon."
and
"Speaking with Danny Wirtz and Jaime Faulkner today on
@CHGO_Blackhawks
- it’s not a matter of IF but WHEN the all black #Blackhawks sweaters will make a comeback and WHEN is soon."

"Soon" doesn't seem like it would mean 3 seasons from now. That wouldn't be "soon" then.

I have two Blackhawk hats and a hooded sweatshirt that I wear around the house. I bought my son a Bedard shirsey. I sold off the couple knockoff jerseys I owned.

I hate the black jersey as well.
(To me) the bright colors in the feather - tomahawk are enhanced by the white, slightly less by the red. The black dulls them, it’s just darker and boring.

This thread is for three purposes but I imagine it will die quickly unless infighting engulfs the thread into a spicy hateball of entertainment.

1. Let's hear about the best Hawks stuff you have. What is your favorite jersey you own? Most unique piece of memorabilia?
2. Where do you get your Hawks merch? Best places in town and online?
3. Selfish ask: has anyone ever come across a black, C & tomahawk hat? Not the fake C and tomahawk like you see on all the merch, but like the actual C and tomahaks with the serif. If you don't know the difference, here are the two side by side.

Tell me it is the offseason without telling me it is the offseason...

Other than a few tshirts I haven’t bought anything since the cup win in 2010 and all I really bought then were shirts, hats and a few trinkets (a plaque, toy cup, …)
I get tshirts from my son in law. He is CFD and the station that serves the UC will create a shirt linking the fire department and the UC teams.
Haven’t worn a jersey with a name other than mine on it since I was a kid and then it was 5-Russell (which is my 1st name).
Probably 30 years since I’ve purchased a jersey.
I do have a black nylon and a red leather jacket I wear them when weather permits. The nylon jacket is probably 45 yrs old (bought at Gunzo’s). Got the leather as an Xmas gift from my kids when they were 5 and 7, they will be 38 and 40 this year.

I guess I’m a bad fan!

I know my feeling on the Black jersey is in the minority but it's always how I've felt. The red is perfect. The white really makes the feathers with so many different colors pop. The black mutes the feathers and I've never understood so many people's affinity for it. It's not ugly or bad but it's just reinventing the wheel that doesn't need reinventing.

I also forgot to mention the Smolinski signed jersey I won when I was like 19 by texting the number on the jumbotron at a game in the late oughts with like 5,000 people in attendance. Gave it to my dad it's hanging in his office.

A year or two before winning that me my dad and my brother went to Toronto to see the Leafs lose to the Sens. We stayed at the hotel the Sens were staying at.

Smolinski and Chara got onto the elevator with us and we rode up in silence. They got off and I told my dad I'm pretty sure that was Smolinski and Chara. He goes don't be goofy.

I told him sure it's probably just some other seven foot eastern European man in a track suit with a guy that passes a striking resemblance to Bryan Smolinski.
