Really liking that top 9.
Now they have it right. The top 2 lines took over the 3rd period in the last game. Hopefully they can stay like that for awhile.

How did you come to that question? I'm just saying having a top heavy forward group lets guys like lehkonen play deeper and should give him an easier time. In the past we would try to be 'balanced' but it neutered every line. In that scenario, Lehkonen would be too high in the lineup. In my post, I would want him on the 3rd.
ALSO these are not my lines, they are CJ's
Even as someone whose been labeled a "Plekanec hater"...I wouldn't say he's useless on a 3rd line and in a defensive role. He's still a strong penalty killer and while I don't agree he's a shutdown centre, he's an effective defensive player to shadow the oppositions best. I just don't think using him 17-18 mins a game simply to do that, is very effective for the team.
That being said, I do think he's useless offensively.
He was snakebitten with Radulov early in the season, but they were generating chances together. Realistically, had Therrien decided to stick with Plekanec through thick and thin the way he has with Danault, I think you could have expected around 50 points from him this season. But there's more to gain at this point to play Danault in that role.
After being taken off the top 6, the offense dried up, but what could you expect really. He's never been the creative type, so you put a Byron and a Shaw on his wings and all you can hope from them is to not give up goals.
30ish points for a defensively sound center isn't that bad. Except we had a far bigger and cheaper one that we decided to let go last summer.
Plekanec's been snakebitten for a year and a half. At some point it's a decline. And the truth of the matter is that he hasn't been all that dangerous for us at all. You my friend wouldn't last a long time as a coach....

Remember Chris Higgins? That was a guy I was sure was going to be a consistent 30 goal guy. He generated all kinds of chances but just couldn't score. And Plek isn't generating near the offensive chances that Higgins did. At some point it's not luck...
Funny because alot of coaches do that
I don't remember him generating much of anything to be honest. Then again I missed something like the first 8 games when we were on fire so maybe it happened then.Plekanec isn't generating anything right now... But he was getting chances when he played with Radulov. Just couldn't convert on them.
I think Claude is giving a veteran like Emelin every chance he can while we're still in the regular season. I don't see him playing Emelin if it was the playoffs right now.
mccaron sitting again...screw mitchell
but the lines are amazing. just the second line lacks a bit of size and is a third line in reality

Heard on the radio today that CJ gave his reasoning for benching Beau. Said he wants to keep all the guys in the lineup fresh and ready for the playoffs.
Make of that what you will.
What the second line lacks in size they make up for it with speed, determination and intensity.
Something like "he can be a good hockey player" right? I think I heard that reported. I didn't hear the actual quote though. He also talked about Beaulieu's 'potential', which sounds like he's saying Beaulieu hasn't lived up to it yet.
Really liking that top 9.
I get the feeling CJ isn't a fan of Beaulieu's.
Little PP time very little 3v3 time which are two areas where he is useful...
Just looking at the PP numbers when Beau was paired with Weber compared to what Markov or whoever has provided us since should be relevant but it isn't.
Did he come in with a set impression or is it Muller/Daigneault providing feedback?
