Makes no sense to me either. I can only guess Julien hopes Emelin works through his issues, and King starts adapting to his teammates and role. King is worth some investment so maybe it'll pay off. Emelin... I really don't know anymore...

I understand the let's protect the vets so that other vets like me syndrom....but if you don't want to call those scratches....call it rest days.....geez. King looks like a bad DSP right now. And I've seen Robert Dirk play better than Emelin....okay not that much....;)

What did Beaulieu do to get benched when he's been our only somewhat competent puck mover from the backend lately and Emelin has been playing some Peewee level defense? Is anyone in the organization even aware that our PP was best in the league when Beaulieu was on the top wave with Weber and that it's been dog **** terrible since he was removed from there?

Why not have Byron with Galchenyuk and Radu who were the best line we've had all season? Why not Gallagher instead of Shaw with Patch who have been successful playing together for years?

Baffling decisions. Though not really, new boss is the same as the old boss so ice-time will not be given based on merits but rather on locker-room pull so the coach can remain popular and secured.

I can forsee us playing an OK game,

Tonnes of outside shots with no real chance to score.
price stands on head and bails out team.

we concede a 2-1 stinker over a fluke deflection.

It's not official yet that Beaulieu is a healthy scratch.

I think that the "intern competition" is gonna bite us in the a$$. I think it will make a lot of players mad.

Shaw is bigger, faster, and better than Gallagher. At least for the time being anyways.

Julien is just as guilty as Therrien was with his easy scratches. Emelin should be out. Not Beaulieu. Just like King should be out. But vets will prevail. For better or worse.

You mean Therrien isn't the only one who makes odd lineup decisions?

I'm shocked :sarcasm:

All of our D can use a game off, so N8 being scratched, I don't think is a biggie at all...Emelin, Petry, could also use games off...............I think CJ needs a couple of more games to see Davidson, to see where he is at before the playoffs...

Poor Nesterov seems to be the forgotten guy?

LOL...CJ will get his fair share of the critics over time also...glad CJ decided not to use a 5'5 centreman on an ongoing basis, for almost 5 years...I am giving Clod the edge on TOI and in game line adjustments...;)

You'd want Nate's skating ability against the Hawks. Cement skates Emelin should be out.

I think you have to keep everyone happy. Last time Emelin sat. This time it's Beaulieu. Next time could be Petry.

Emelin has been directly responsible for many goals against the past while. Seems at least once a game he makes a boneheaded decision that leads to a goal against. Players just walk around him and then Emelin pushes them into the goalie.

I don't like Beaulieu being scratched. Hopefully it is just temporary so he gets a game off, maybe see the game from a different point of view and comes back with a new perspective.

Probable lines :

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Lehkonen - Danault - Shaw
Byron - Plekanec - Gallagher
King - Ott - Mitchell

Markov - Weber
Emelin - Petry
Davidson - Benn

I agree. After 10 minutes, the coach will probably go,with this one.

King looks like washed up Travis Moen.

We didn't lose speed though, according to our GM, so everything is fine.

(11:28 am ET) Davidson will be back in the lineup Tuesday night, when the Habs play host to the Blackhawks, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.

We have Davidson projected to play on the third pair alongside Jordie Benn, while Nathan Beaulieu appears to be a healthy scratch.

P.S:
glad we all agree on EMELIN and how he should be the one sitting.

I guess Julien doesn't want to **** off the vets right before the playoffs?

I don't agree with his decision at all.

Nathan Beaulieu is probably the absolute last player I would've scratched against the Hawks.

I'll never understand the kind of treatment Beaulieu gets from this organization.

He should be on the top 4 at the very least. Bergevin came out saying "he was part of the top 8"... Way to build up his confidence.

If we don't value him that highly he should be traded. Other teams would love to have him.

He'll never be as good as I thought he would be (probably a combination of my expectations being too high and Therrien's lack of devlopment) but he's still a good mobile guy who can play on the 2nd line.

Maybe there's something else going on here that we don't know about. I don't understand why he'd bench the guy.

All... playoffs...
...Poor Nesterov seems to be the forgotten guy?

I'd also give Nesterov 1-2-3 games before the playoffs (and rest a veteran/tired dman)...just so he's not too rusty in case he's needed (in case of many injuries in playoffs, etc). But for now...he may not get any games before playoffs since he's the no.8 (behind Davidson).

Heck...who knows? Maybe for defensive hockey sense...Nesterov is ahead of Emelin? (I'm not talking about hits and hip-checks).

Emelin has been directly responsible for many goals against the past while. Seems at least once a game he makes a boneheaded decision that leads to a goal against. Players just walk around him and then Emelin pushes them into the goalie.

I've been noticing this since day 1...ever since Emelin came to Mtl...lacks defensive hockey sense and seems to push/crash/bounce/slash-trip opposing players into our goalies.

Emelin = overpaid caveman (a caveman who throws hip-checks even when we're winning 9-0...brainless).

Exactly. There's puzzling moves and then there's outright stupidity for four years.
