I don't think MT knew what the word 'offense' meant. His idea of high octane offense was playing the trap on the PP.
I don't agree. We definitely had an offensive identity under MT. It mostly consisted of trying to create quick rushes through neutral zone off turnovers and being simple but fast and quick in the offensive zone. We've been on the top half of offensive teams in the NHL the last 2 years under MT.
Our defense is great now, but we lack an offensive identity right now imo. It seems like they don't play with the same pace anymore, it's more of a "half-court" system and they're more about trying to find open men and making cute/fancy plays that we don't have the personnel for. We've scored what, like 8 goals 5 on 5 in a month since CJ took over?
