Nice way to send out Bob.

The picture in picture was a revelation. I knew he got up in spirit with the team when they performed, you could hear it in his call, but to see him getting up off his feet and grinning and jumping like the rest of us in the arena. Yes, of course that's the way he calls it. You can't fake authentic joy.

Here's to you, Bob. The King of LA Kings' fans.

Damn costly win...moves Kings above Carolina and down a slot in the draft.
I was counting on the Black Hawks and such a let down.
Thank God Winnipeg and Philadelphia won....or we would lose another slot and
possibly have Philadelphia vying for our slot. A loss today would have kept Winnipeg and Philly ahead of us, guaranteed...now,
they both have shots at passing us in the draft. Just F !!

We are now in a must lose game tomorrow vs Sux. And Philadelphia plays the Canes.
So, we must lose and the Canes must win. Winnipeg is done for the season and 2 pints ahead. If the Kings win, what happens? Both at 87 points. What a mess and such a costly win....if all goes wrong tomorrow - Kings win and Philly wins, this win today may cost the Kings 3-4 draft slots. F !!!!!!!!!!!

Karlsson was drafted after Teubert.

Granted, picking higher gives you a better chance, but I am not overly worried.

And I can just never bring myself to want the Kings to lose, especially on the last two games Bob will call.

Well, thanks for rounding up all the possibilities. I'd still rather win, especially if it's in Bob Miller's last home game. For ****'s sake.

Imagine trying to pay both Doughty and Karlsson , and you can probably include Myers into that equation too had they drafted one of them instead of Teubert. Crawford would've destroyed Karlsson worse than he did Jack johnson. Never heard a coach unload on a player like that during a practice.

I heard Crawford used to call Handzus "co++ksucker"
what an ahole.

Congratulations. You summed up in one post everything I can't stand about this board. At the end of a tough season, the team we all (theoretically) root for wins a terrifically exciting game against one of the best teams in the league in the final home broadcast of our beloved hall of fame broadcaster and you are *****ing and moaning about a few meaningless draft positions. JFC.

Sorry dude, we definitely got something to play for tomorrow....if the Ducks lose, and Edm wins, Ducks fall to 2nd place in the PAC and faces SJ in first round rather than CAL who can't win in ANA.

No one is forcing you to stay. I happen to agree with him, it's a meaningless game and who knows what those few positions could mean. Could mean jack ****, but after watching this team rooting for them just to crap the bed all season this team needs as much help as it can get. Lose when they need wins, then win when they need to lose.

Yes, it was great they won for Bob, class act all the way. But I'd rather them have lost...

I missed Saturday's game and will miss tonight's game, but I'm glad to see the boys win it in overtime over the Blackhawks for him. And we didn"t need Martinez to score the GWG this time. Heh.

I get the moping over the loss of draft position, because the games are meaningless and it looks like we're finally going to keep our first-rounder. I also get Quattro's just enjoy it position. It's all good. I'm feeling good because for this weekend, we have Bob Miller back.

I don't think fans are wrong to want better draft odds. But I would rather have the memory of Bobs last game being a great one.

And if someone locates Jordan Nolan in time for the game, I hope he dresses and gives Kessler some payback.

The Draft is so weak on talent, that drafting 4-15(in the first round)... There is basically no difference.

Congratulations to Bob Miller. He is a true icon in LA and will be a part of Kings history forever.

Wanting them to lose is fair, but there's no point in getting upset if they win. Players don't care about better draft positions.

Exactly the reason I can't stand it either. Many here are oblivious to the big picture and the immediate future, improving of the team...valuing enjoying 1 single, meaningless game, having a few beers and fun, over the impending betterment of the future of the team...kind of just hoping
a good prospect will be selected and draft postitions matter not...and DL will somehow make the team better in some way...

All Cups are won with teams that have their core from their draft picks, as a primary component. Even the Kings, with Kopitar, Doughty and Quick being the top 3 key pieces. (of course, Carter, Richards, and others played a large part)

With the Kings cap screwed with Kopis, Browns and Gaboriks contracts, free agency is of no help. Trades? Hard to markedly improve with them. Youth? The Kings do not have any stellar, sure fire top 6 forwards or top 4 defensemen in the system. So, you're left with development and the draft. Maybe development team can make some prospects into players...but there will be no McDavids, Laines, Eichels, unless you draft them.

There is a big difference between pick 10 and 14. In 2005, the Kings got Koitar at #11. I was pretty sure he would go to Ott at 9 or Van at 10. I am glad Lombardi was not here that year, as he would have taken Marc Staal at 11. (he was drafted at 12)
The next 4 selections NEVER played in the NHL. (ok, one of them played 33 games)

There's a drop after the top 10 this year too...true, this is not a deep draft, but selection #10 is better than 14. A win today coupled with a Philadelphia loss will
be a setback. I am a King fan and do not want that to happen. 1 game is 1 game and
1 player could be here 10+ years and be a difference maker, for the next decade. If the Kings took Staal and not Kopitar, there are NO Cups here.

I love Bob Miler and have spoken to him at training camp a few times...when he asked
me "what do you do?" I was floored. A great man and best play by play man ever in the history of the game...it was great to win for him, but a loss would have not detracted from his honor ceremony and day.

Put it this way:

I think Mike Amadio, and Kempe are both more talented than anyone being picked 5th through 15th in this 1st round. Tough year for the Kings to keep all the picks.

Outside of the first four picks, no one stands out, it's all so mediocre.

Great post. I think you can be a great fan and recognize the shortcomings in the current roster and how difficult it will be to correct those shortcomings.

The draft is likely the only way the Kings have to improve over the next several years.
