The Lightning went through this already with Drouin. You don't gurantee young flawed forwards ice time. The difference is Yzerman negotiated Drouin to swallow his ego and get back into the fold, Nichushkin will be in the KHL for the next two seasons at least and has shown no signs of softening his stance. That is a huge risk
I mean at 11 points in 15 games right now if he keeps it up with our many UFA forwards and him having an opt out he could be back next year
