I think the cost to land Binner will be (at least) 4 Skinners
What value? lmfaoZero chance Binnington is pulling off that kind of value.
That's a Ryan Miller package for a goalie that is nowhere even close to Ryan Miller caliber. I'm not meaning this to shit on Binnington, I think he's a clear upgrade for the Oilers, but that is a crazy payment from the Oilers side.
Other than the 1st there is nothing interesting there, not gonna happen
People need to take note. This is the right way to do sarcasm.Zero chance Binnington is pulling off that kind of value.

The first is a year out (reducing it's value, albeit in a presumably stronger draft so that may be a wash) plus historically a late first/early 2nd pick has about a 50/50 chance of ever playing more than a handful of games in the NHL. Beyond the low to mid teens, no matter what people around here think, first round picks aren't 'that' valuable and certainly not those very late in the round (where presumably the Oilers plan on being). The 1st and Akey are definitely valuable pieces.

Just to be clear Ryan Miller got a 1st rounder plus Tage Thompson - where is the Tage included from the Oil in this deal? Looks like lots of cap dumps instead.Zero chance Binnington is pulling off that kind of value.

Markstrom, I'd say value is pretty similar between those 2.How often do goalies bring back 1st rounders in trade?
Not all that often but every trade is different. In this specific situation, the first that's being offered is not 'that' valuable (presuming that with good goaltending Edmonton makes it past the first round otherwise what's the point). Plus the teams most often mentioned (Anaheim & St Louis) are dealing from a position of absolute strength. Solid arguments could and have been repeatedly made that both teams would be better off if they just keep their respective goalies. So if Edmonton really wants either of them, they're going to pay & pay a lot more than what Goalie 'x' was traded for previously...or they're happy to hang on to them. How often do goalies bring back 1st rounders in trade?
Tage was part of the O’Reilly deal.Just to be clear Ryan Miller got a 1st rounder plus Tage Thompson - where is the Tage included from the Oil in this deal? Looks like lots of cap dumps instead.
The Oilers #1 problem is goaltending. Bottom three goaltending in the league.Oilers problems run deeper than goaltending.
Spending what little assets they have left for Binnington is a bad idea.
