Canucks:

Hordichuk - Sutter - Eriksson
Sestito - Granlund - Virtanen
Glass - Schaller - Dickinson
Brashear - Vey - Bulis

Sbisa - Gudbranson
Pouliot - Brookbank
Ballard - Bartkowski

Cloutier
Potvin

Please note that 7/12 forwards and 4/6 defensemen are Benning acquisitions. Just the dumbest guy alive.
Cloutier was pretty solid with the Canucks. He had a few really good years. Bulis wasn’t bad either.

Pickard and Mitchell should not be on here.

Goalie is the one position where there wasn't a really clear choice, as the Avs haven't had anyone play 41 games who was truly horrible. Went with Pickard because he was the goalie of record for the majority of the 2016-17 dumpster fire.

And what's the problem with including Mitchell? He was a ~25 point depth forward who had some decent skills, but he frequently thought he was a superstar and would regularly trying to dangle through the opposition only to give the puck away. As a result, I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a rusty spoon than ever watch another Avs game with him in uniform.

I left so many players out.

Dan LaCouture - Kent Manderville - Shean Donovan
Steve McKenna - Matt Murley - Kelly Buchburger
Eric Tangradi - Shane Endicott - Rico Fata
Tanner Glass - Zach Sill - Kevin Porter

Hans Jonsson - Jamie Pushor
Marc Bergevin - Ian Moran
Dan Focht - Rob Scuderi

Sebastien Caron
Jean-Sebastien Aubin
2001-2006 had some real dandies on there.

Interesting to point that Craig Adams was so bad he couldn't even make the "best worst" roster.

I am concerned about damaging my mental health if I try this exercise.

Edit: ok I’ll take a shot. After I’m done with the shot I will make an attempt at this.

Ryan Bayda - Drayson Bowman - Troy Bodie
Tom Kostopoulos - Mike Zigomanis - Tommy Westlund
Niklas Nordgren - Marty Murray - Phil Di Giuseppe
Kevin Westgarth - Jeff Daniels - Jesse Boulerice

Brett Bellemore - Derek Joslin
Tim Conboy - Steve Halko
Bobby Sanguinetti - Bruno St Jacques

Scott Darling
John Grahame
This has to be the "Winner".

This defense doesn't have Tomas Mojzis so it's not accurate

Edit: darn, Mozjis didn't play enough games

Lets sub Chouinard for Sutter though

Honorable mention to Jiri Novotny

Eh, I'd take him over someone who was a coaching favorite in Matt Ellis who didn't even make my list. I also didn't mind Mike Ryan or Brian Flynn in their roles as 14/15 guys who at least were fast. It's the filler who are just around, going through the motions like Pouliot or even Buffalo's version of Taylor Hall that really annoy me. Also, the 41-game cut off left some of the mid-2010's filler off because they didn't make the cut.

Cloutier absolutely tanked any hope of the WCE competing for a cup. The style they played didn't help, but he put up an .868 in 02-03 which imo was their best chance.

It was also hard to find any truly bad goalies. As bad as Benning is at identifying NHL skaters, Burke was awful at getting goalies.

Spencer Martin would be my pick. Awful goalie.

There are players that I omitted because they had one good season and one bad season, so I didn't feel like it was fair. OEL is a really good example of that, Martin too...both were good to great last season, and this year was a disaster.

Alright, that makes sense, but Pickard was still a good backup before that year. That team was also god awful in every aspect so I can't even blame him too much for that season.

Mitchell was a fine bottom 6 guy outside of that year too. In fact, one of the better players they had there even though that says more about the Avs team. He was frustrating at times but held his own as a 3C and then looked really good when he was a 4C.

Yeah, it's hard to blame Pickard for it, but that season also seemed to break him, and his career took a pretty bad nose dive afterwards.

And most of the guys on my list were ok bottom 6 guys. My issue with Mitchell was that he frequently got moved up the lineup, which is where he always had issues, kind of similar to JT Compher. Maybe if they hadn't tried to give him more opportunities, I wouldn't have so many negative memories of him giving away the puck at the blue line while he tried to dangle into the zone.

Habs, I used the NHL stats website to find the very worst "per game" players.

I respected sides for Ds

Forwards:
Darrent Langdon (who tf is this?) - Garth Murray - Mike Blunden
Juha Lind - Petteri Nokelainen - Georges Laraque
Tom Pyatt - Brian Flynn - Michael McCarron
Gino Odjick - Kyle Chipchura - Aaron Palushaj

Defense:
Douglas Murray (2013 edition) - Ryan O'Byrne
Janne Niinimaa (2005 edition) - Cale Fleury (Rookie edition)
Jarred Tinordi - Tom Gilbert

HM to Alzner, Mete and other useless LDs that were still less useless than the above

G:
That's tough. Only 10 have played > 41 games. 2 of them won Vezinas, 2 more were Huet and Halak who were excellent with Montreal. Garon and Budaj did fine I believe.

It's between Hackett, Condon, Allen and Montembeault. Idk about Hackett so, imo:

Mike Condon
Sam Montembeault
Jake Allen

It's so bad, that if different poster came up with this same roster I'd honestly have no idea which team it was for.

The hint is Drayson Bowman to me. I was too young at the time so my reference of prospects came from video games, for some reason he was good in those and again, for some reason I recall his name distinctly.

For the Rangers you really need to break a project of this size down in to chunks.
So from 00-01 to the first season post-lockout you can roll out beauties like:

Marcel Hossa - Anson Carter - Valeri Kamesnky
Eric Lacroix - Jeff Toms - Rico Fata
Dan LaCouture - Rem Murray - Chris Simon
Steve McKenna - Ryan Hollwegg - Sandy McCarthy

Dale Puriton - Brad Brown
Rich Pilon - Dave Karpa
Sylvain Lefebvre - Jason Strudwick

I'll give you a starting lineup for the Leafs.

Vesa Toskala - Andrew Raycroft - Justin Pogge
Garrett Sparks - Petr Mrazek

And in net... Let's go with that EBUG who played a minute and got Montreal's panties all twisted

Joe Colborne - Brandon Yip - David Van Der Gulik
Dennis Everberg - MA Cliche - Andreas Martinsen

Matt Hunwick- Nate Guenin
Shane Orr'Brien - Ryan O'Byrne

Crazy leafs had hunwick as our top pair D besides rielly in 2017 lol

He was shit but we had little options then.

Jeff finger also played for us but at D. Had a really bad deal given due to confusions by Fletcher
