Vote for the best overall combination of offense and defense.

Note: These are not necessarily the best overall seasons since '67. If Gretzky has a 200+ point season where his contributions are 90-95% offensive and 5-10% defensive, his season can be better in terms of net impact than any seasons listed as options. However, the spirit of these polls is to vote for the best combination of offense and defense from forwards and to consider seasons where offensive and defensive contributions are both very high.

Results:

#1. Sergei Fedorov 1994 (33.3%)
#2. Bobby Clarke 1975 (47.1%)
#3. Bobby Clarke 1976 (70.6%)
#4. Sergei Fedorov 1996 (beat Joe Sakic 2001 in a run-off)
#5. Joe Sakic 2001 (50%)
#6. Bryan Trottier 1979 (50%)
#7. Doug Gilmour 1993 (beat Pavel Datsyuk 2009 in a run-off)
#8. Pavel Datsyuk 2009 (beat Kopitar 2018 in a run-off)

Kopitar '18 leads. Voting will conclude tomorrow tonight.

I feel like we need to wait for more votes.

Also, I think the number of votes is being suppressed somewhat because people, reasonably, do not remember the intricacies of each of these seasons.

It would be cool to have a ‘cheat sheet’ at the top of each voting thread, going over some of the relevant stats to give people at least some idea.

Tomorrow is a holiday in Canada. I’ll try and put something together, albeit the post-2008 entries will have more detail.

Bobby Orr was the best two way player then and ever. No one else is even close.

Thanks. I have work tomorrow, but if you can do that, it would be appreciated. I'm probably going to end this series at the tenth poll since participation isn't that high. It would be good to have at least 12 to 15 votes for this poll. I'll extend the voting period if needed.

The poll closed with nine votes cast.

@JaegerDice is going to post some detailed information that will allow voters to make informed selections. I'm going to extend the voting period and hopefully we'll have at least 15 votes by tomorrow.
