Maybe because toronto and edmontons top 6 cant do anything in the playoffs besides having the best couple players in the world and crappy wingers unlike vancouver

The Canucks have one of the worst records in the NHL over the past 5 years lol. How about you try and make the playoffs first. And please don't bring up that flukey COVID run where Marky stood on his head and you guys were outshot 40-10 in every series.

poll seems extremely lop sided seems like its more of a bias thing rather then truth

Verhaege - Barkov - Reinhart
Huberdeau - Bennett - Tippett

vs

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser
Hoglander - Horvat - Garland

Verhaege = Hoglander
Barkov > Petey
Boeser = Reinhart
Huberdeau > Miller
Horvat > Bennett
Garland > Tippett

the best players poll is probably something around this: as long as everyone is heathly
Barkov
Hubey
Petey
Miller
Horvat
Reinhart
Boeser
Garland
Verhaege/Hog
Tippet

Seems like canucks have the better depth but FLA has higher top end
lets be real tho Verhaege was basically waiver wire before this and Tippet is still a rookie and has shown less then Hoglander

I think Florida has more guys who have to prove it wasn't a 1 season thing, such as Verhaege proving he can produce like that again or Bennett proving his hot streak wasn't just that. If they can play at around or similar to last season, I think Florida's depth is as good as Vancouver's on top of having the better top end guys.

Canucks top 6 isn’t better than Toronto or Edmonton but delusional Canuck fans think it’s the best in the league lmao.

Star talent matters you can’t just compare the positions 1:1 and tally them up.
Nobody said that these were the 2 best top 6s in the league? Stop crying because your team isn't mentioned in every damn thread that exists. Or did you just want to come into this thread because you want to shit on the Canucks because that would be very Oiler fan of you. Rent free.

I’ll try and stay on topic - Florida’s top 6 is much better than the Canucks simply because of star power. The Canucks don’t have a single top 20 player in that top 6 and you could argue they don’t have a top 30 player. EP is a guy who I have regularly said on these forums I believe has superstar ability but he just simply hasn’t done it yet. If we want to talk about potential sure, he’s got top 10 player in the league potential but so what? How about he does more than put up points in bunches on the power play or just looking for a one timer?

I thought Garland was a very nice addition to the roster but can we stop acting like he’s some sort of elite top 6 winger? The kid is a good up and coming player who got a ton of ice time on a horrible team and was a bright spot..

Okay we get it.. your an Oiler fan... but don't go bashing the Canucks for not making the playoffs when your teams playoff track record of recent is just as bad.

Not to mention you have McDavid. McChokers.

Did you write this before I even responded? I’m confused lol because I tried to be reasonable and yet you seem to still be crying? Do you not want to discuss the actual hockey analysis part because you know it’s wrong?
Oh yeah, way to throw crying back at me. A very original comeback that you did not just take from me 2 posts ago. Like I care about your biased Oiler hockey "analysis" for the Canucks team that you hate. This conversation didn't start because I wanted to debate you on the poll topic, it started because you were bitching about Canucks fans being the absolute bane of your existence for some reason. Not to mention, you keep deflecting my posts by acting like "wtf lol Im so confused ur so dumb XD", you aren't sly or slick bro.

This should be very easy Panthers.

They have 2 90+ point superstars(reigning Selke winner) and just great all around talent

So, we all agree that in the most important F position, 1#C the Panthers are better. Barkov > Pettersson.

They also have another star caliber forward who can carry a line. Huby is probably at least as good as Pettersson, even if he plays less important position.

What really separates this for me, is Barkov being a workhorse. If push comes to shove, he can be effective on both ends of the ice for 25 minutes. That's something that doesn't show up on the score sheet as much. But Barkov can be, if needed, to be trusted for a lot of TOI. It's not ideal to play him as much, but he really can do it all. Shutdown oppoñents top line, score, make plays, run PP and PK. It's not like he's full blown offensive tool that's feeded easy minutes.

When Sam Reinhart is your 3rd or 4th best forward (depending on if Verhaeghe can repeat last season's success), you have an excellent top 6. Once that the Canucks don't match up with.

Verhaege << Miller
Barkov > Pettersson
Reinhart < Boeser
Huberdeau >> Hoglander
Bennett < Horvat
Tippett < Garland

I'll give the edge to the Canucks but it could easily be Florida depending on the performances of Bennett and Tippett.
This is exactly how I see it as well, interesting to see the results ended up being much more lopsided. I totally understand though, because Barkov and Huberdeau alone are better than anything than Canucks have. I just think Boeser, Horvat and Garland being better than Reinhart, Bennett and Tippett lean it the other way for me.

Where the hell is this bravado coming from? The Oilers have only made the playoffs one more time than the Canucks in the last 6 years and they were embarrassinly swept, with McDavid coming up short, yet again, when it matters most. Mind you it might have actually been a bit more embarrassing to lose to a Chicago team who didn't even deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs, lmao.

Either way, glass houses, man.
