Hossa and Iginla come to mind as far as that level of rental

...Hossa, sure - the trade for his CONTRACT after he retired, maybe...and the Iginla deal was a horrible one for Calgary, mostly because Iggy gave them 4 teams (NMC) to work with only, and shockingly done by Jay Feaster, possibly the worst GM in the history of the NHL...but sure, I'll give ya that one...so one in the last 12+ years done by a guy who was fired within months of that trade...

...and I'm not confused at all that you cannot see that said offer is middling at best...fans overrate their own and underrate the players of other teams...in this case, you're just taking it to a fairly high level of overrating...
