You guys are overvaluing rentals and undervaluing the prospects. Nelson is a good player but he's not a superstar. No reason Nelson should get a better return than Horvat or Lindholm

Imo the return proposed here is of less quality than the Horvat trade. The first isn’t as high, the nhl player isn’t much, and the prospect is suspect. The Lindholm deal had a lot more moving parts, so far more difficult to compare.

Horvat was traded at what? 27 years old? Nelson is 33 Nobody is signing Nelson to a 7 or 8 year extension after this.

How did the the Lindholm deal have a lot more moving parts? Because Calgary took on Kuzmenko instead of retaining?

He’s a bit tough on Cowan since that team was an absolute mess this year but Robertson is more of the 13f then sometimes scratched. He’s more of that guy teams sign to a 1 year two way deal in hopes he can come up and do something when guys go down due to injury.
