Don't be shy, If you have made some good predictions on this site, let us know what they were.

We, collectively, often make lot's of "gotcha" posts or remarks on this website, this thread is for the complete opposite.

Name some times where you were correct, especially if you were clowned on at the time of the statement.

Kind regards,

Coffee

No idea, I'm normally very conservative about making predictions, I err on the side of caution for probably obvious reasons (statistics basically). The only thing I'd say is if some makes a prediction and turns out bang on....generally speaking, a lot of those would just be pure luck.....I guess it depends on what is being predicted though.

That the Calgary Flames should have traded Huberdeau with full retention immediately after acquiring him. Even prior to playing a game for them.

before 2005-2006 Carolina was projected to be the worst team in the league. After watching the team a bit that pre-season I went out on a limb and said they'd make the playoffs as a worst case

In 2005 draft the teams passing on Kopitar would regret it.

Man, I was irate. We drafted albino skinny 13 year old kid Brian Lee.

That and the drafting of Roby Jarventie instead of JJ Peterka who went to Buffalo with the very next pick.

We followed Stutzle all season and JJ seemed like the perfect pick for Ottawa. You'd think they would have scouted him too.

How much time do we have?

My best take is that nobody should pay attention to the majority of my takes.

Ya, right there with you about JJ, but still can't really fault PD much after having what will likely go down as the best first round in franchise history. Imagine if they got JJ and then, as much as I like Kleven, took the next guy again instead(Faber)?!... Even worse about Lee is Murray and Muckler allegedly had a screaming match in the hallway about Bryan REALLY wanting Marc Staal instead of Lee

I usually don't make confident takes on here but the best one I had was when the Flames were being "threatened" some years ago with relocation unless they got a new arena I quickly brushed it off as an empty threat.

Probably common sense in retrospect but I liked the amount of people here who agreed with me, which doesn't happen all too often :D

I also predicted that the Panthers would beat the Oilers in 7 games just before the finals started last season. My only reason why I truly believed this is that I am convinced that for the past thirty years we are living in a simulation that whenever a Canadian team makes the finals we are certain to lose in 7.

Lo and behold!

Shane Wright shouldnt be a consideration for 1st overall.

Bedard will not immediately light the league up goal scoring wise like Matthews when he first entered the league.

After the Columbus sweep I said that the Lightning were a lock to win the cup the following season.

Maybe not too much of a hot take but it did end up happening

That the Tkachuk trade was both smart and worth what was sent to Calgary. Many thought Zito made a mistake, especially in the quantity sent.

Also spent the 2023 summer arguing with a few fans that Florida would be a top team and would be back in the Finals last year.

I’ve also said for a very long time that winning would bring the fans back, sold out season seats this year. I was told Florida just didn’t have fans. Losing sucks, I see empty seats all over where it’s happening.

How about not trading our injured center for a first so we can sign a free agent
