How about Edmonton!

Clapped out Khabibulin, clapped out Bryzgalov, Dubnyk, Scrivens, Fasth, Talbot, Koskinen, Campbell!

Damn that’s even shittier than I thought when I started typing lmao.

Canucks have some seriously good goalie scouting processes!

Washington low key had a good string of goaltending. Carey won the Vezina as a rookie, lost the job to Kolzig who held onto it for a decade. Then Theodore had a brief stint before Varlamov & Neuvirth took over and then Holtby came in at the end. All these guys except Theodore were drafted and developed by the Capitals too, even Samsonov and Vanecek, while mediocre starters, came up through their system.

The Habs from like 1910 until 1933 went from Vezina to Hainsworth, then a bit of a gap for like four years, and then Bill Durnan until 1950, and then like 2 years until Jacques Plante through 63. Then another five years and you have Vachon and then Dryden.

Habs goaltending from a historical perspective is f***ing absurd. They've had a HHOFer in net more often than not, and not by a little bit either. Like 80% of the time they had a top 15 goalie of all time in net it seems like.

Habs owned the position. That five years is split between HHoFer Gump Worsley and Charlie Hodge. Worsley and Hodge combined for 2 Vezinas, one 1st Team All-Star and three 2nd Team All-Stars. Hodge finished 4th & 5th in Hart voting in 1964 & '65. In the 39 playoff games he played for Montreal Worsley had a .931 Save % and 1.92 GAA, while Hodge had a mere .926 and 2.17 over a dozen games. Oh, and there are 4 Cups over those five years (one of which is Vachon's).

In 1969-70 the Canadiens had in their system HoFers Worsley, Vachon, T. Esposito & Dryden, as well as future starters (elsewhere) in Ernie Wakely, Phil Myre & Michel Plasse.

From Durnan to Dryden, four decades worth of goaltending, no team comes close to the Canadiens riches at the position. And as stated there are HoFers Vezina & Hainsworth before Durnan (It's actually a solid decade of meh between Hainsworth and Durnan, but Gerry McNeil was actually pretty good between Durnan & Plante too). Just insane.

Put more on the goalie coach. Melanson and Clark over the years.

Richter, Lundqvist, Shesterkin with appearances by Blackburn (career cut short but promising), Dunham, Valiquette, Weekes and Van Biesbrouck? Pretty solid.

Benoit Allaire deserves a lot of credit for taking the Rangers goaltending to new levels post “Rangers’ Dark Ages era”. This guy has taught some invaluable techniques to the Ranger goalies. I think Quick has also benefitted from being around Allaire.

Except he does.

He played 1 season as the starter, posted a .926 (5th in the NHL) and 2.05 (6th in the NHL), won the Calder and finished 5th in Vezina voting. The next season is when Thomas took over, and Raycroft managed to get you Tuukka Rask in the trade market
Any goalie can have one good season. Rangers okay the long game with Lundqvist -> Shesterkin

Not saying better than Rangers or Bruins but Nashville has also had a nice run of goalies. They seemingly always have a good one and another good one ready.

Vokoun to Rinne to Saros (and Askarov in the wings)

Buffalo basically had Hasek and Miller from 1992 to 2014 (with a sprinkling of Biron during the transition)
Definitely an underrated stretch, Miller was top tier for quite awhile there.

Technically the Jackets had 1 Calder and 2 Vezinas over a 10 year period :sarcasm:

I came here to say this. I think it's important to consider teams like the Rangers had top of their field goaltenders, not just a collection of top goalies.

Florida might be a sleeper pick.

For most of the last 35 years, the Rangers have had Richter, Lundqvist and Shesterkin.

Vanbiesbrook was excellent as a Ranger too, he just took his career up a notch when he went to FLA and it overshadowed how good he was in NYR.

I'm not sure Davidson was good enough to bridge the gap to link Giacomin to the Beezer-Shesty string.

Yeah in recent memory it's probably Boston.

MTL had an incredible stretchfrom the 70s to 2010s: Dryden, (filler years), Roy, (a few filler years), Theodore, Price. That's 4 vezina winners, 2 hart winners and 2 conn smythe winners

Nashville also had a pretty good stretch during the 2000s: Vokoun to Rinne to Saros.

Hackett was also very good for montreal in the late 90s.... he just played on bad teams that were injury prone to boot.

Also, they had vokoun in the 90s too... but the logjam in net at the time made him vulnerable in the expansion draft, and off he went.

Don't know if the best, but... Vanbiesbrouck- Richter- Lundqvist- Shesterkin, with some "transition" seasons of Dunham and Giorgiev as goalies, is more than most of the teams can dream.

While not the best,

The Red wings had

Vernon
Osgood
Hasek
Legace
Osgood
Hasek/Osgood
Howard

Howard got some hate as a wings fan but I honestly thought he was a great goalie from his rookie year in 09-10 to 14-15 then Mrazek took over and played really well and then completely S*** the bed.

Also if you just look at the names, Florida's list of starting goalies is way more impressive than it actually was:

Vanbiesbrouck - Burke - Vernon - Luongo - Belfour - Vokoun - Theodore - Markstrom - Thomas - Luongo - Bobrovsky

With possibly Knight in the future.

Cam Talbot was also a good backup for Lundqvist. Especially during that Cup run. You always felt confident when he started games in place of Henrik.
