What streaming site do you guys think is the best to watch NHL on a mobile device? Something that is affordable and good.

MOD NOTE:

Keep discussion to LEGAL, authorized streaming services only

Truthfully I've had the most luck just sailing the high seas. In Canada pretty much the only "official" option is to watch games through your local cable provider, or get SN now and use a VPN (since it only offers out of market games). I'd gladly pay to watch hockey if they made it convenient, but they seem bent on keeping cable TV a thing.

Your best legal service that I know of is Bell Fibe TV streaming app.

DO NOT GO WITH SPORTNSET FOR THEIR "NEVER MISS A GAME" bullshit. It's over priced and a lot of the games are blacked out.

There’s others I know but I probably can’t post here….

The SN now I started using during the 21-22 season and it honestly horrible. Always freezing or just not working. It did improve the following season I will admit but might been different for others. During the playoffs CBC gen was free and great. Only issue was it had a huge delay so maybe tell your friends that so they don’t text you and avoid looking at box scores cause you will get spoiled.

Never tried ESPN + as I live in Canada. Heard it was decent though and that could be an option depending where you live or wanna get an VPN if you really wanna try it.

The product the NHL offers in Canada for streaming straight up insulting. If they ever decide to actually attempt to get my money they will get me off the high seas which as of now provide a better service then the NHL does.
SNnow is actually pretty good if you’re a fan of an out of market team
Bruins fan in Toronto have no issues. Throw on a bunch of random games as well

For those that have Prime, the live TV channels might have games. In Montreal, all the games that are on CityTv are on Prime and iirc they cover almost all saturday games.

Yep.

Some form of

NHL TV
CABLE
Sports Net Now.

Kinda need all 3 to see every game for NHL and that doesn't seem affordable.

I'm on Sportsnet Now.. agree the app is shit but, so far, it has met all my needs and I've seen every game I've wanted to. Fibe is in 5.1 and Sportsnet is not. TSN, which I also have, is even worse.

I am not sure why a moderator removed my post, as I was only discussing ESPN+, which is an authorized legal pay streaming service here in the States. In any case, I was asking @Church Hill why he thought ESPN+ was terrible, as I have legally subscribed to the service (which has a contract with the NHL, which I pay for), and I think it works well -- except it does black out some games that are on other services. For example, last Saturday's Montreal - Chicago game was picked up by the NHL Network, so it wasn't carried on ESPN+ and I therefore could not see the game.

IMO, ESPN+ is a better legal paid service than the previous service which legally contracted with the NHL -- NHL.tv. ESPN+ is more stable, is less expensive, and also carries other sports.

Cable is like a free throw in now when you add it to your internet package. I pay an extra $20/month with Shaw for cable and get Sportsnet and TSN. I get every Oiler game but other teams games are hit and miss.

I find it weird that I was with Centreice for several years and never once had a blackout yet now I get them despite my location never having changed?

If the nhl cared about fans being able to watch games some people wouldn't think the best option to watch the games was via an unauthorized stream where you don't have to worry about your games that you paid money to watch being blacked out.

I just want a steaming service that I can pay like 10-20 a month and watch any game live

Im not getting cable TV just for NHL games lol
ESPN+ is your best bet.

However thanks to blackout BS you'll be able to watch nearly every game except for those that are broadcast nationally and anything in you're specific region.

If you are out of your teams broadcast region it is absolutely fantastic (until they play in your region)

If they could skirt blackouts the app would be perfect, but that never going to happen so..

Can people in different households use Sportsnet app? Thinking of getting it for my mom, who would be watching Oiler games. I'd like to get it for the Flames. That's if they're not blacked out here in Sask.

Legal sites? You know these streaming sites are legal to use in Canada, right? The illegal part is hosting or downloading the data. Just saying.

Not available in Canada. Theres always VPNs I assume, but it shows that theres just unecessary hurdles.

Also the region stuff is a little weird. So you get a subscription to ESPN plus and cant even watch your local team?
