Too many O.J. jokes I guess. The guy that fired him was named Don Ohlmeyer, who was friends with O.J. There might have been other reasons, but that’s considered by many people to be the main reason. I did love when Norm came back to host a few years after being fired and said the show sucked in his monologue.

In his memoir, Norm says he was fired for not making enough OJ jokes. He also brought a young fan to Canada to club and kill a baby seal.
