Best skater 2000 to 2015

Probably Sid but I went with Lidstrom bc I’m feeling nostalgic and the 2015 cutoff takes away more of Sid’s best years than Lidstrom’s

Crosby, Forsberg, Jagr, Ovechkin, Pronger and Sakic are all good choices, but this time period lines up nicely with Lidstrom's prime.
A few of those players were probably better than Lidstrom on a per-game basis, but this timeframe captures all seven of his Norris trophies, his Conn Smythe, and 950+ games as a top two-way player.
(EDIT - to echo what a few others have asked - what's the question here? I interpreted it to be "best non-goalie". If the question is which player has the best skating ability, it's probably Niedermayer).

I think it’s weird that Crosby doesn’t have much more of the votes. By nearly all accounts he is a top 10 player all time here. He was easily the best player in the world for two seasons and on pace in more.
Lidstrom is more often like a top 15 and his whole career isn’t in this time frame. Don’t think he was ever the best player in the world during this time either.

Edit: wait the title is

What is going on with this poll? It's clearly not asking who has the best skating but who is the best skater (i.e. best non-goaltender). If it was skating, most of these players wouldn't be listed, especially the Sedins.
That said, there should only be four options: Crosby, OV, Lidstrom, and Jagr. All are top 20 players of all time. No one else is even in the conversation.

Totally misunderstood the assignment and picked Niedermayer because his skating was insanely good. Changed it to Crosby as he's clearly the best player here and I now think that is what's being asked.
