One time when I was younger I ate half a jar of prunes in one sitting just to see what would happen.Any concoction with LOTS of prune juice.
All outstanding advice, and one other key tip for weight loss is:There is no magic bullet for weight loss. Shakes are a temporary quick fix that often end in people gaining back all of the weight plus some once they start chewing again. They are also chemical laden and almost always sneak in a sugar or worse a artificial sweetener
Here is how to lose weight:
1- Exercise more
2. Eat at home. You know what's in your food and you can control your portions. Restaurant and fast food tastes good because it's fat and salt laden. Human nature of not wanting to waste leads to one eating more. (more on this in #4
3. Eat way more vegetables and beans. They are low calories very nutritious filler goods
4. Avoid pasta, rice, and potato. These are high calorie low nutrient cheap fillers and generally what a restaurant fills a plate.
5. Forget anything you were taught about nutrition in the 80s and 90s. The body runs on either fat or sugar, Your body wants natural fat for fuel; eggs meat (dark meat chicken is better than breast) olive oil.
6. Eat like a caveman. The less processed your food the better. Read the ingredients of what you are buying.
If it's not super simple, don't buy it

Bingo! All outstanding advice, and one other key tip for weight loss is:
Eat your calories, don't drink your calories.
You'd be amazed at how caloric sugary drinks, beer, and yes even shakes are. The fluids themselves go right through you, but the calories stick. Switching from a soda drinker to a seltzer drinker can help you lose a material amount of weight relatively quickly, and it will also keep you better hydrated and with more sustainable energy. And it's cheaper and every bit as refreshing.
So lemme get this straight: Are you saying that high fructose corn syrup ISN'T the Breakfast of Champions????... soda/cokes/soft drinks are one of the worst things out there. Loaded with chemicals, acids, and sugars. Especially HFCS.
Quitting soda was one of the best things I ever did
The breakfast if champions is a glass of water with lemon , followed by black coffee, scrambled eggs with cheese and ,.of course , baconSo lemme get this straight: Are you saying that high fructose corn syrup ISN'T the Breakfast of Champions????![]()
All sounds like the makings of a YUMMY smoothie - thanks for the weight loss advice! The breakfast if champions is a glass of water with lemon , followed by black coffee, scrambled eggs with cheese and ,.of course , bacon
Biscuits and gravy if it's a cheat day
And are made to be addictive. That’s why you always want more soda.Bingo!
And since you brought it up, soda/cokes/soft drinks are one of the worst things out there. Loaded with chemicals, acids, and sugars. Especially HFCS.

I agree that we should get the majority of our caloric intake from whole food sources, but I have beef with some of the highlighted items. When looking at this shake in the context of something to supplement an already balanced diet with, casein is just another protein source derived from milk much like whey, probably included in this shake due to the slower digestion. There are debates on how healthy MCT oil is, but it is certainly not unhealthy. Even in this powdered form, the addition of tiny amounts of tapioca powder and sodium caseinate is a nothing burger. Not harmful, but not containing any actual nutrition either. Guar gum and xanthan gum in small amounts are harmless, and any negative side effects come from excess consumption. They likely used as both a thickener and to help this shake keep ones stomach full for longer. 15g a day is considered to be the safe upper limit for xanthan gum, which would be an insane amount to consume - for instance there is probably less than .25mg in one scoop of this powder. Not that I would feel comfortable consuming anywhere close to 15g of it either, but .25mg will have no ill effect. Then there is the whole debate on artificial sweeteners, with a ridiculous amount of studies pointing both ways. I have read a ton of literature on sucralose, and like most things, the harm is done when consumed in extremely high amounts. Artificial sweeteners don't need to be avoided like the plague, but they shouldn't be replacing regular sugar several times a day on a daily basis. High amounts of sugar are also extremely unhealthy in different ways, the best practice is to break the addiction to sweet and sugary foods in the first place.I grabbed a random weight loss shake label and highlighted the bad

any "lose" is sugar and seed oil is inflammatory
Also one should get vitamins from their food rather than having it supplemented into shakes or breads and cereals
