Post-Game Talk: Below average goaltending + below average finishing + below average defense = ugly losses

Time to fire Knoblauch, recall Rodrigue and put Stu Skinner, RNH, Janmark, Brown & Henrique in the pressbox. And for god sake put Jeff Skinner with McDrai.....
Are we really advocating for another coaching change when it’s clear some of the personnel aren’t playing the way they were last year?

Team goes through the deadline without addressing goaltending and that's the effort Stu decides to put in?

Not just bad but embarrassing too.
Then he has the audacity to stare down the team when he let in that putrid first goal and was basically an entire adventure in net.

Connor’s body language when skating off the ice after the game was disconcerting .

Clearly agitated shoulder shrug in what looked like him responding to a teammate.

Not good.
I mean he has to be better too.

That being said our goaltending is a huge problem and even when the team plays well in front of him, Stu has sewered them.

Looks like we are headed towards the "oilers collapsing and mcdavid leaving" timeline
Not to be melodramatic but until he signs an extension, that potential is real and exists.

Like any of us in our careers, anytime we felt that we were not growing personally, or the organization wasn’t delivering the actions to help create a positive future you wanted for it, people contemplate other options or in fact, did move elsewhere. That’s fact.

Doing nothing to improve such a critical position like goaltending in a SC window was an epic fail that will further influence his decision making.

Bowman and Jackson better be able to communicate an effective, deliverable action plan on how they intend to fix this when they sit down to ask 97 to sign.

Not really sure why we expected a different out come with Knoblauch then we got from woody, there is pretty much identical in coaching styles and even more so in demeanors it's no wonder they have such a short life span when they have no accountability. Players just block them out eventually. I mean woody is still unemployed ffs....

We have a serious dressing room problem now and in think this year is all a lost cause now. You will really start to see the frustration and arguing amongst players IMO. Like some have said most players are ignoring Skinner after the buzzer goes how a days.

I honestly dont see him signing here again. It most likely would have been guaranteed he stays if we won last year, but the hockey gods would never allow sewer stinker to be a champion.

We have had 3 GM's in the McDrai era and none have priotized the crease. Absolutely mind blowing.

Probably cost us multiple cups and will again this year.
Only possible reason I see for thos out come is Schwartz has way to much fking pull with this team. I mean are big acquisition was fking Campbell who ib said from the beginning was gonna be an absolute disaster and apparently that was Schwartz doing bringing in Campbell.

Dreger said pre deadline Katz was pissed how the Oilers were playing and was blowing up both Jackson and bowmans phone daily multiple times yet we had 0 fking changes were we needed the change and or upgrade.

Maybe Katz goes nuclear this off-season after the first round exit. Like some have said the kings just might have the goaltending to do it this year as it like like that's r first round match up again

I just don't get it. Knoblauch could do no wrong last year and now he's just Dave Tippett yet again. There have to be decisions coming from above.

I'm not even sure I buy this. He could've just said he was. This bozo owner has never cared about winning, only lining his pockets as he holds a beloved team hostage. He probably would've sold the team by now had McDavid not landed in his lap. People defending this asshole owner baffle me. He hired friends from the get go and now he wants to be mad that said friends aren't up to the task?

We will never know what goes on behind close doors, I'm sure some one has katz ear. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it was still Kevin lowe calling all the shots.

Hate on Katz all you want. Your choice. But we sure got a lot more now with Katz then we ever would of with the OEG ownership and or who ever was of purchased them....

Largely because of McDavid. It was Katz's insistence on hiring Oiler buddies over competent staff that landed us in a decade long playoff drought. And it's his continued insistence on pathetic hirings that keeps us from a championship. Whether or not he's actually angry, I could care less. These are your employees, Katz. You have nobody to blame but yourself.

This type of speculation is annoying and not necessary.

The sky is not falling.

There are adjustments to be made with the team for sure but this is alarmist bs.

why do I care if I'm "convincing" anyone?
Replying indicates you do care.

Why would mcdavid stay another 10 years with the antichrist in net lol. Terrible goalie=no cup and he desperately wants a f***ing cup

The sky has already fallen. Management committed to this team while the others around them sought to improve their rosters. Depth, defense, and goaltending. The things that Holland was brought in to fix, the things that Bowman was brought in to fix, and the things that Bowman's eventual replacement will be brought in to fix.
