I've done my share today.

I am bi-polar and if not for a phone call home in 2002 i wouldn't be here.

It's a struggle but my girls and wife are worth it.

If you're having thoughts, talk to someone. You're not alone. Put your hand up, someone will grab it.

Mods, if you have to close this down, I understand, but I hope that you could keep it up.

Today is Bell Let's Talk Day in Canada, and our American friends can help out as well.

Today is the day Bell donates 5 cents every time there is am interaction using #BellLetsTalk hashtag on Twitter, Facebook, Snap chat, views their official video with Howie Mandel and more to mental health initiatives.

At 9 am, there were already over 12 million interactions.

As a few of you are aware, I suffer from severe depression, and if not for my son admitting me into the hospital last summer for several weeks, well I don't even want to think about where I'd be today.

So this day to me has become a special day and I hope that you can all take a few seconds out of your day and simply use the hashtag once or a hundred times today or by using one of the other options Bell has to increase their total donation

God Bless all of you

Glad you're doing well ... Brother..
Kudos to Bell for a much needed recognition of mental illness awareness. ... hard to believe that still today too much ignorance exists towards this subject. .In all honesty, unfortunately there are a few who abuse this so they can succeed in getting a leave of absence from work. ..
Anyhow Be well my friend. ...

Been tweeting and sharing the video all over the place today.

I've been suffering from severe anxiety for years. Bad enough to lose quite a bit of weight at times, shut family and friends out, and turn down multiple opportunities. Thankfully I have an incredibly supportive family, friends, and a wonderful girlfriend who all have been there for me. I've learned over the past year to cope a lot better with it and not let it control my life nearly as much.

People are there to talk, you are never alone.

Can I ask what you've tried for your anxiety

We all remember Daron Richardson daughter of Luke. I was at the public memorial at Scotiabank Place and it was completely heartbreaking. #BellLetsTalk is an incredible way for people to discuss this. No matter what your team allegiance is, we all are important

this is so important for today's fast paced society, sometimes its hard to keep up regardless if you are diagnosed. It's ok to feel sad. it's ok not to be "normal" ...fXXk I hate that term "normal". History shows the brightest minds with the most to offer have come from people we haphazardly describe as people with mental illness....most aren't ill ..they simply think different which in a lot of cases is a blessing to others.

I can't get this thread out of my head. I just want to add that we'd be surprised on how many folks suffer from one form of mental illness or another. Whether its anxiety or depression or bi-polar and even insomnia! We'd also be surprised how many folks will not speak of this and keep it inside or in house.

You will hear things like "I was brought up with my family telling me to never speak of my problems or family problems to anyone outside of our house, to keep them inside" Its looked at as being weak or inferior if one seeks help for such issues. Be a Man!!! Blah blah!!

I want to commend everyone who posted here on this thread it takes courage to speak of these things. You are not alone, never ever!

I suffered with depression and anxiety about 6 years and not even my wife and kids could detect it because I was ashamed to let it show and suffered in silence. Thankfully, my GP is a very astute guy and picked up on it during my annual checkup....forever grateful to him.

I was put on Cipralex and took myself off it after 18 months. The withdrawal headaches and nausea were awful, but it helped me "reprogram" myself. All good today.

Don't wait it out too long, get an opinion.
