It's possible but we still have Gus, Fleury, Stanley, Ville in the PB with some young guys chomping at the bit to maybe get a call up.

I think we have solid enough depth that we can move some guys up the lineup and be alright, provided we don't suffer a bunch of injuries but if that happens we probably shouldn't get to trigger happy.

As long as the injuries are not to Helle and/or Scheif.

If we end up in a really good spot come deadline time and the team is looking relatively healthy I could see Chevy trying to add a few depth pieces for PB duty just in case but I don't think it will be anyone marquee. Guys we really only have to give up middling to late picks for from teams in the basement just as some insurance.

Even though we know this can't keep up indefinitely, it is hard to look at our roster and decide to kick anyone to the curb.

Our 2 needs remain what they have been, a 2C and a top 4RHD. But Namestnikov and Pionk are both playing way too well to go there right now. I can't see the play of either one falling off so far that I would want to replace them. Unless they are hurt enough to throw them off their game significantly.

I'm not sure I agree. I think it is demonstrating that C&S could have played better together in the past. It is demonstrating that them playing defense is not only leading to fewer GA but also more GF.

You could even say that it is proving the critics of the pairing to have been correct. But the solution has come from them together instead of them separated.

I wouldn't call it proof yet, but I think it is supporting dog's point that depth can compensate for a lack of elite talent. It still requires a lot of talent though. Just not quite at that elite level. You can't say that the Jets don't have talented players. All of Scheif, Ehlers, Connor, Perfetti, Vilardi, Morrissey and Helle are talented players. Maybe Snerg and Pionk need to be added to that list too.
