  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
The year was a fun ride for the most part. I really thought they were going to do it after the back to back wins against Detroit.

Bad news, the conference is getting better and we had a lot go right for us this year with no guarantees it’s going to continue going that way. Getting Monahan and company back should help, but with a very weak draft and UFA group, I don’t really see us making a lot of headway next year either. I actually could see us regressing like Philadelphia did.

I don’t see us regressing with some solid players in the pipeline and a ton of cap space

Not surprising .. you usually tend to predict the more negative outcome . Can’t say I agree with you , but you’re entitled to your opinion . Perhaps they make a couple trades ? They played a large part of the season missing Monahan, recently Sillinger , and Boone is just a downgrade centering your 2nd line ..

Of course you also predicted that we would suck this year as well so there is that

Maybe it is a negative perspective but the team hasn’t exactly inspired any confidence that it’s going to be any different. I know, new staff at management and coaching level, but there’s not a whole lot out there for free agents and the trade market won’t be as desperate with the cap going up.

There will be moves, obviously, but I don’t see anything significant coming in unless something significant is leaving.

The pipeline, to me, isn’t even that close to making an impact in the NHL. Aside from LDBB and Hunt or something

That's fine, since giving minutes to rookies usually doesn't help!

What does help is when guys in their first four or five years age up a year. On average they get better! We have a lot of those players.

You knew they would fight. You knew they wouldn’t give up. It’s been that way all season. They had every reason to fold at the outset. Instead they competed, scored and won as much as they lost.

But for all the fight of the past couple weeks, nothing really to show for it. I don’t blame Waddell or Boone or Kunin or whomever. It’s just the way of it.

But it sucks.

I was just addressing the pipeline question. I agree this team needs less rookies and more experience.

Obligatory progression isn’t always linear post. I could see marchenko continuing to improve, but I’m not seeing much out of KJ, Sillinger, or even Voronkov recently to inspire much confidence. Chinakhov is way too injury prone.

Mateychuk is going to have a lot of growing pains. He’s already starting to get some hard lessons recently. He’s probably going to be our 2LD.

Hope the team isn't as mentally weak as these boards moving forward. This team is miles ahead of where anyone predicted coming into the year especially after the tragedy. Seen some solid growth in players and have some young guys (especially Mateychuk) who are starting to learn the grind of an NHL season and will better understand how to prepare for it
