At end of day the obsession this board has with Gruden is odd

Also it will not just be Gruden building the future of Raiders it will be largely Mayock who will be handling drafts

I think Mayock is a very smart guy and will love watching how he handles building a team

You know there is a San Jose or Las Vegas board on HF. No one is forcing you to follow the Bears. I'm sure they'll want to talk about the Raiders.

In all seriousness, people mock you about Gruden because you refuse to take accountability for your mistakes. A simple, "I was wrong," would go a long way for getting posters to move on. However, you have a tendency to double down when you have no chips to play.

Mayock does appear to be a smart guy. However, don't be mistaken ... Gruden is still the GM and has final say. It's bizarre that you'll "love watching Mayock handle building a team" ... while Pace already built a pretty good young team that you root for. However, you go back to Parkey which Pace admitted was a mistake.

Can someone list out the moves Mayock has had involvement with aside from the Brown trade?

Adding Brown to the Raiders that had Mack and Cooper would make me more bullish on the Raiders moving forward. Adding Brown to the Raiders without Mack and Cooper makes me wonder if the Raiders have a clue about the direction of the franchise.

Brown is not what Oakland needs at this point And for Brown, yeah he got paid because he is going to have to earn it going from Big Ben to Derek Carr as his QB.

I agree with piteus and that the Brown trade is not terrible, Jon Gruden's vision is. Brown got paid and will not do anything for Oakland.

But hey, the Bears benefited from Oakland's stupidity.

I actually don't mind the Raiders picking up Brown, I just think it makes no sense with the other moves they've made over the prior year.

What they gave up is fine, it just makes no sense for whatever they’re trying to do. I’m not even going to guess what that is.

There's literally no reason for the Raiders to sign Brown right now, with where they're at in the rebuild... Like you said, this move makes no sense in any way, for them, at this moment in time. Two years from now, maybe it would make sense. Right now? Makes none. It's indefensible, IMO. This move would make far more sense for the Bears than the Raiders.

Right, which is my point.

I asked BWC a while back when he thought the Raiders would compete and he said 3+ years after this season (I think I asked him in early fall), so that would mean he doesn't expect them to compete in the window for which they just signed Brown.

With 3 first round picks this year including a top 5 pick and two first rounders next year I think as a fan I’d be pissed if they’re not competing as soon as next year.

The Raiders not having money so they had to trade Mack only to give that money to Brown 8 months later is high comedy.

It's strange indeed. It was noted Big Ben targetted AB over 1,000 times in his career...considering the WR will only get numbers with a QB looking his way it's weird how that whole situation degraded.

The Raiders had money. It was lazy reporting by the media. The Raiders might have not been liquid at the time, but the NFL has an immediate line of credit to any owner in regards to payroll. The Raiders could have easily put money in escrow to sign Mack. For some reason, Gruden soured on Mack.

Stories out of NYC ... the Giants are very interested in Adrian Amos. It sounds like Amos will be priced out for the Bears. He's going to get a big contract.

The Bears will probably try to sign Callahan instead. It sounds like he'll be cheaper.

The way the Chicago media is talking about Landon Collins has me convinced he's the most overrated player in the league.
