Without a 2nd, they don't really have the ammunition to do that without decimating next year's draft.

Bears can survive a year with no 1st and would still have 2nd next year because of Panthers

Frankly the Bears should be in playoff contention this coming year, no excuse not to be

How much would teams be willing to pay for the Panthers' pick? I'd rather have a 2nd in this draft than two seconds in the next.
Don't they say next year's pick is worth a round lower this year? So probably a high 3rd and only to a team willing to kick the can down the road a bit.

I've heard that saying, but I don't think it holds to scrutiny. Next year's 1st rounder is always viewed as a 1st rounder. But I think a high 3rd or low 2nd is the value.

For the record, I think Nix will be perfectly fine in today's passing league. Yes, he played for a team that had him throw short and boring passes, but he was great at it. I don't think he hinders you from winning games, but I'm not sure he'll win games on his own.
