I like Edmunds but why not just pay Roquan? IMO Roquan is better player

Fine with Davis and Edwards deals

Adding depth but really need some impact/potential impact pass rushers here in FA or draft

Raider fans are not happy

Should have just stuck with Carr if this was what the plan was

They need impact offensive and defensive linemen, Getting linebackers is good but would not have been the top priority. Getting DT Hargrave would have been awesome, oh well.

Do not hear anything on Orlando Brown, so I am guessing they do not go there. The guard they signed sounds kind of Meh but I am not that familiar with him. I guess other posters here were right that Poles likes Braxton Jones at LT.

At least Bears got the receiver need taken care of in DJ Moore so that is good. But maybe I set my expectations too high hoping for Hargrave and an either Brown or McGlinchey.

Bears have so many needs that getting decent starters at any position improves them but not hard to do when you were the worst team in the league.

Bears have next to no linebackers on the roster, and the draft isn’t elite at lb. They had to sign at least one, and will get linemen at the draft.

One of the better guards in the League, definitely not a meh/average.

I haven’t followed Orlando Brown closely, but is he really that good? I remember he had a terrible combine.

I looked up one article ranking NFL guards and he was ranked 16th so that is better than I though he was. I thought based on his salary he was a middle of the road player as prime free agents usually get a premium.

Here is what the article said:

16) Nate Davis, Tennessee Titans

Like Seumalo, Nate Davis will hit the open market in March, and given that he’s only 26 years old, he could be in line for a nice payday. The former third-round pick has typically been better in the run game than as a pass protector, but teams looking for a bully along the interior would be wise to consider adding Davis.

Had a really bad combine no doubt about it. But he’s been really good as a pro.

Davis is a solid get.

Sounds like he wants top dollar so KC did not have space from him, they just signed his replacement at 16M.

From soundbites from experts on WSCR I heard sounds like he is not elite but above average. One opinion was he was a better RT but wanted to move to LT to get the premium payment. Sounds like whoever gets him will have to do an overpayment but I just want to get a good offensive line and not players just good enough to get by.

in taking a bigger picture look I forget how expensive free agency is and cap wise it is more efficient to fill out the roster with draft picks. Poles getting the haul in the trade for the #1 pick bodes well for the future assuming he drafts well.

Because they got a similar linebacker for cheaper and a second round pick

Poles just signed 2 young impactful line backers for just a little more than Smith is making per year.

We will see don’t see the bears going crazy on a overpay but I’m hoping maybe his market falls a bit and he ends up a bear

That monster haul they just got for the #1 pick would not have happened if Roquan had stayed. The defense fell apart after he left.
