Carolina has a solid defense and they’re gaining cap space to go along with the crap division they play in.

People saying next years pick will be high need to slow their roll a bit.

Not super thrilled with drop to 9 but overall deal is fine

Moore is now #1 WR which should push Mooney to #2 and Claypool to #3 if he doesn't completely blow

No more excuses for Fields. He either takes major step next season as a passer or Bears draft his replacement

Need to draft a pash rusher or two early in draft and probably bring in another in FA to start and improve D

Big DJ fan, but I never saw him as a bonified WR1. Still, for the price, you can't be upset. And to be fair, DJ has always had a subpar QB.

He's 100% a #1. He's had 1100+ yards in 3 of his 5 seasons, and never with a good QB. And he averages 14 yards per reception, so he's the type of guy who is always moving the sticks for you. He's got the elite talent, just needs a QB. Fields should be that guy.

Wouldn’t shock me if they trade back again to around 12-13. There are a handful of OL, and Chicago could desperately use any one of them, but they all more or less seem interchangeable. Would be nice to drop a few spots and get another 2nd rounder.

Carolina has an easy schedule next year. They will get 7-9 wins.
Afc South and nfc North are their scheduled opponents. QBs are Goff, Fields, Cousins, Love, Lawrence, And who knows about the other 3 teams at this point in time. Also get Rams, Dolphins, and Giants. Stafford, Tua and Jones.

Own division is Carr. Atl and TB unknown.

They will be starting a rookie QB or a bridge QB. They just traded their best offensive weapon and their second best offensive weapon is a free agent. Carolina is not going to be a good team next year. That 2024 1st will most likely be a top 10 pick with an outside chance if being a top 5 pick.

Yeah, it feels like the Bears pick is now around where the draft falls back. Unless you want a CB, which is probably the least position of need on the team. But that also might mean the pick isn't in great demand for another team to trade up for.

Maybe the Bears can make it back to the playoffs before they vacate Chicago. Let's see what they do in the FA market and hopefully, Fields improves. Panther's schedule - Bears better win that home game,

Would most likely be for one of the remaining qb’s. Richardson, for example, was a physical freak at the combine.

I disagree that there isn’t a ton of talent at several positions available at 9.
Pundits predictions are not teams draft boards. Depending on who they get in free agency (trying to average 3 sites rankings on a cell phone) there will be some mix of 1 interior D lineman and 1 edge. 1 or 2 offensive tackles and then there is also the cornerbacks.
Trading down again is a possibility but if he is calling it shows a position of weakness. If I’m Poles I wait for the 1st 8 picks and see if the phone rings. I’d also probably be willing to move back a lot farther than most of you. He seems committed to a long term rebuild.
If the team with a pick in the mid 20’s calls and really wants to move up that far I can see real value. … (that mid 20’s pick a 2nd and a 1st next year, likely more).
