Poles should be fired for giving a 2nd rounder for Claypool, drafting Velus Jones, and passing on Jalen Carter. Clear bottom 5 GM in the league, if not the worst.
if DaBearsblog is correct about the Bears organization not being on the same page, his firing will happen after the season.

I don't care about the Claypool trade, it';s done and over, move on. (Harping on a bad trade is stupid, just move on.) Agreed on Velus. As for Carter, he is going to do something stupid that will make Bears glad they pass on him. Book it. He is a ticking time bomb. I did not want Carter and still don't want Carter. Going say....F**k Jalen Carter.

Louder for those in the hockey-only sections arguing about the Jones trade for the 497th time.

Tell me about it. If the trade was still pending (in terms of draft picks not being used, yet) I would be more annoyed about the Claypool trade. That transaction is over (as is the Seth Jones trade, I believe).

the thing about the Claypool trade is they bought an asset that was trending downward and completely fell out of favor and paid a very full price for it, absolutely zero margin for error in that deal...now compare that with the Swift deal that Philly made and they bought very low on an asset that showed a ton of upside but fell out of favor...thats the difference between an elite org and a perpetually bad one...turnarounds rarely turnaround and paying top price will almost always be a losing proposition

0 chance Poles is fired. They'll give him a chance to pick HIS QB since Fields was drafted by the prior regime. He basically borrowed himself time with that.

A family member of Nate Davis passed away today after a length bout with a terminal disease. This definitely has given me context as too why Nate Davis has struggled so much early in his Bears tenure.

The Suntimes ran an article about the Gervon Dexter lawsuit a few days ago:

Apparently BLA's founder is a former MLB pitcher himself.

Fernando Tatis, Jr. is one of their clients, whom BLA stands to make 30 million from alone, because of the type of early contract involved in the Dexter lawsuit.

Some MLB player had already sued BLA a few years ago, then either lost or dropped the suit, and issued an apology to BLA.

I'm not familiar with Dabearsblog's story or whatever about not being on the same page or him getting fired. I doubt Poles' job would be on the line this soon. He gutted the roster, and had the backing of management while doing so. This is going to take a couple more drafts to get good, minimum. Maybe Flus's job could be on the line if this season spirals' out of control, through.

I do agree about the Claypool trade - we just need to move past it. Every GM will make a bad trade. He just needs to not keep making bad trades. To this point I still like the Carolina trade and the pick that resulted from it.

Just get the damn QB down for once

The first sign of pressure there and Bears still allow nearly a 1st down

Jaquan Brisker and Eddie Jackson both injured

Kyler Gordon already out injured

3/4 of Bears starting secondary is injured and we are only 5 qtrs into season
