Seems shortsighted to barely improve either of the offensive or defensive line early in free agency given the absolute state of them last season.
LB seems to be a weaker draft class and you could get 2 good LBs to sign here entering their prime.

DL seems to be really loaded in the Draft... Can always go OL in addition to the Jones signing. Thats without cuts.

If anything this didn't seem to be shortsighted. Poles went for a profile and he did get it most of the time.

Offseason isnt over.

I still think they’ll sign a tackle late like they did with reif and also draft one. The biggest question mark to me is do they cut whitehair. I think they’ll probably keep him for his versatility

The ideal scenario is probably a trade back, RT, 3T, C, Edge in the first 4 picks
I'd probably add TE and CB to your list if one of those two happens to be a BPA-type of thing.

Not sure Poles wants to trade back based on what he said but I'm sure for the right offer....because maybe he wanted to stay in the top 10 because he felt the pick would be valuable enough to where he could trade back.

They did sign a top notch guard. I have no problem not signing Orlando Brown. There's mixed reviews on him - with many Chiefs fans referring to him a turnstyle.

You don't want to force things just because you have capspace. That's a road to trouble and having to release good players a year or two from now.

And most important - they weren't going to completely fix a 3-14 team in one off-season.

Here's to hoping. I'm expecting either Johnson Jr or B. Jones to start on RT next season. If RT does well and LT Jones has added mass and strength enough to withstand bull rushes, it will probably be fine and the team will be in a good position for the 2024 season.

Adding a quality guard was important. People are not mentioning that Patrick was a good C/G and now that his hand is repaired that should continue.
(To me) they have 3 starting quality OL, added a 4th but really need 2 more because one has injury (back) history. 1 of the 2 needs to be a quality tackle.
The draft looks loaded with DL candidates, I’m also interested seeing how the 2 decent DL on the team are if they aren’t always double teamed because the LBers were no threat to rush. The impact of adding 2 good ones might help the defense a lot.
I think they go edge at 9 because it seems there is OL help that should be available in RD 2 or even 3.

What I’m reading about Brown is he’s a great pass blocker within his area but has no mobility to run block/pull or adjust to a scrambling QB situation.
I’m betting he was never on Poles radar.
