Mahomes is going to go 24 days between games, I could see the Texans upsetting KC next week if their defense plays at an elite level.

I don't get the Johnson to the Raiders rumors. Brady can be as in charge as they want, that doesn't get them closer to a solution at QB. Offensively, they are Brock Bowers, and a decent but not amazing O-line. Dirty little secret is that 2026 doesn't look considerably better than 2025 for QBs, which is why a player like Allar would return to school for another year to enter that draft instead.

Maybe they'll make him an offer he can't refuse, but if I were to guess, I'd say the Raiders is a leverage play more than anything.

I'm convinced the transfer portal in CFB is ruining QBs by not having enough time to develop and learn a single system and playbook.

Last week, I thought it was Jax. They were going to clean house, give B Johnson carte blanche and a boat load of money. Probably the media areas around LV and Jax are spreading rumors of Johnson going to Chicago as a likely done deal. Nothing more than some media members taking the chance to show they have reliable inside sources. And yes, I'm very cynical when it comes to the media.

On the flip side last year's QB class was considered extremely strong and the first impressions have been solid for pretty much all five of the first round QBs, and the only one who didn't transfer at some point in their college career is Maye. Caleb transferred to stay with the same coach so maybe you don't count him either, but in any case I think it's too early to say for sure whether it's a blessing or a curse

E: I forgot about JJ, so add him into the never transferred pile, even if we haven't seen him in action yet

Oh yeah, it's way too early to say one way or another. Some guys will probably be so good it doesn't matter, but I think it's going to hurt the majority of the QB field who aren't elite guys.

McCarthy was another high pick from the last class who didn't transfer, although obviously missed the whole season which is why I'm guessing you left him out.

Be prepared for more M McCarthy rumors.....sounds like he and Jerry Jones haven't been able to come to a contract agreement yet. So MM will be free to go elsewhere.

Maybe

But Chiefs looked like a team that needed rest given how banged up they were near end of season. So the time off may infact be helpful for them

Should be a good game and a defensive battle, I'd imagine. Houston played them tough in week 16 and it was a 5-point game in the 4th Q. If Stroud can avoid turning the ball over, I think the shot of an upset will be there.

Regardless, I just hope KC gets eliminated. I have major KC fatigue and even more Kelce - any damn Kelce - fatigue. I want to see the Buffalo/Detroit matchup in the SB.

The Bears will do something dumb and Bear-like and hire McCarthy. Or Ron Rivera.

McCarthy would be a really uninspiring hire but he does have a track record of developing QBs. Feels like this thing could go in many worse directions than him.
