If you are into advanced stats at all, D'Andre Swift finished the season with -174 rush yards over expected.
If you're not into advanced stats at all, D'Andre Swift finished the season with 5 broken tackles and 1.6 yards after contact per attempt.
This is a really good RB draft. If Poles is still the GM, he needs to admit that the Swift signing was a massive bust and go out and get a new RB relatively early in the draft. Likely round 3.
Yeah, it was a bad one. You can get out of the contract in 2026 with only $1.5M dead cap. Coulda woulda shoulda picked up Jacobs, Barkley, or someone else. It's whatever at this point, they just need to bite the bullet and pick up a new RB.Hated that signing from day 1. He got paid because he ran behind one of the best lines in the league in Philly.
Didn't like the signing either but given how messed up the offense was this year (rookie QB, bad/injured O-line, 3 OCs, etc) I'm going to hope Swift has a much better year next year once some of these offensive issues get resolved.Yeah, it was a bad one. Maybe they thought Trubisky was the real problem, and they think he'll do great with *checks notes* Spencer Rattler or 42 year old Aaron Rodgers?Saints and the Jets now eh.... He really is going to get another crack at a HC job.
I'm not advocating cutting him in the off season. But the running game was a massive problem this season, and it wasn't all on the O-line. The number of times the tape shows Swift just randomly cutting away from a hole in the O-line only to be tackled by a defender for no gain is insane. When Johnson was out, the run game missed several opportunities to gain a yard.Didn't like the signing either but given how messed up the offense was this year (rookie QB, bad/injured O-line, 3 OCs, etc) I'm going to hope Swift has a much better year next year once some of these offensive issues get resolved.
They are an attractive spot. Maye is good, tons of cap space, essentially a blank slate for the rest of the team.Patriots eh? Can't say I saw that one coming even if just for an interview.
First question for any HC candidate is who is the QB there? Of the 5 openings, those would be:They are an attractive spot. Maye is good, tons of cap space, essentially a blank slate for the rest of the team.
I think Vrabel is the HEAVY favorite there though. The Pats have had a ton of success with a defensive minded head coach, Vrabel played for the team in their Golden Era, he has a good track record, and the team just churned through a first-time young head coach in Mayo.
And they will be one and done going to Philly. The Packers were a fingertip on a last second field goal attempt away from going 0-6 in the division.
Wild. I thought they'd be the best team in the division before this season.
Well, at the very least, he can leverage the 2 teams into a better contract offer. Having 2 interested parties is good for negotiations. Both have 2nd year QBs for 2025. Cap room. Both large markets.Patriots eh? Can't say I saw that one coming even if just for an interview.
Fully prepared to be mad that I called this...
Let me make it one worse, watch ys trade for him rather than waiting a couple weeks.
So I think I read somewhere that if the Lions got the bye, which they obviously did, that Ben Johnson can start interviewing now. Anyone know if that is true and if so if any interviews are expecting in the near future?
If thr Bears hire McCarthy, I will be convinced the organization is straight up trolling their own fan base.I've honestly just about had it with this joke of a team.
You guys all say that but you’ll all be back next year. They’ve got you all by the short hairs.I've honestly just about had it with this joke of a team.
Bunch of spoiled wankers the lot of them.f*** the Packers
