Even though they use Gabriel outside, they shouldn't. When TG is outside he's not open unless he's wide open, and that is a problem in today's NFL. Patterson can run the fly routes that TG runs. Does TG have better hands than Patterson? Definitely. However TG isn't open enough to use them because he's so short. If Gabriel was used properly he'd be used similar to Cohen and Cohen is better.
He's like an Oiler first round pick. Great physical tools, but can he play hockey? The Packers' Rsshan Gary pick is interesting. His on the field resume is thin.
I guess I'd just rather develop Ridley and Wims. Gabriel is an ok player but he's not anywhere close to Steve Smith. Patterson has stone hands, I don't argue that point.Yes the guy who has always played as an X receiver and was signed as an X receiver shouldn't play X receiver. Gabriel just had a more productive season this year than Patterson has had in his entire career. I don't think you know what you are talking about.

While Patterson doesn't have great hands, I don't think he has stone hands. While he's returned punts (harder) only a couple of times, he does return kickoffs. If I'm not mistaken, it's Patterson's route running that's been his biggest issue. That's why keeping it simple for Patterson is best.I guess I'd just rather develop Ridley and Wims. I love Ridley though. Think he's going to be a solid #2. I disagree that Wims sucks. I think the Bears really like him, and i think he could take a big step this year.Javon Wims sucks ass. Why do you keep talking about him? And no **** he's not Steve Smith. Steve Smith was an all pro
I don't think Wims is bad. Our staff appears pretty high on him. He runs good routes, big, and catches the ball with his hands. I don't think he'll be a star, but he is a capable possession receiver. What Wims lacks is speed. That's where Gabriel and Hall have the advantage. That said, Gabriel is so small, how much more pounding can he take? Hall is still unproven. All he is is speed at this point.Javon Wims sucks ass. Why do you keep talking about him? And no **** he's not Steve Smith. Steve Smith was an all pro

I actually think Gabriel is too short to play on the outside and he was only doing so because of Miller's injury/lack of depth. Because of his size if there is anyone close to Gabriel he's not open. It is easier to find space in the slot than on the outside.
Bellamy sucked and they should have been playing Wims over him. I think you would have been surprised. Wims was a rookie and they didn't think he was ready. When he played he made plays. Nagy's system seems very timing based and I completely understand them not trusting Wims to be at the right spot for Mitch. Robinson is a stud when healthy, you have no arguments from me there.Miller and Robinson were both hurt last year and freaking Josh Bellamy was playing over Wims. For how much the staff likes him, they sure didn't get him the ball much. The guy had 2 more catches than Bradley Sowell who is an offensive lineman. 32 yards from scrimmage and people think the staff like Wims more than Taylor Gabriel who they just gave $26 million.
I never understood having both Gabriel and Cohen on the roster last season, and I still don't. Gabriel isn't Tyreek Hill.
They're both gadget players. You only have room for one of those on a roster. I get what you're saying, but they serve the same purpose. Gabriel has pure WR skills and Cohen has pure RB skills. I think Gabriel is overpaid and overrated.Other than being short Cohen and Gabriel are nothing alike.
Durability is part of the equation. That said, Miller and Robinson are better talents. If he's not he needs to play in the slot. He's too smurfy to play outside, IMO. As soon as they get someone with decent size to take the top off of a defense he's gone. His only purpose as an outside receiver is to blow past DBs.Gabriel is absolutely not a gadget player. What a strange thing to think.
But he’s done it his entire career. He’s been productive there. Here and in Atlanta. If he's not he needs to play in the slot. He's too smurfy to play outside, IMO. Yes, and that is why he got $14M guaranteed to play for the Bears for 2 seasons. I don't think he sucks or is bad, he's just one dimensional. TG's only assets are his speed and hands. But he’s done it his entire career. He’s been productive there. Here and in Atlanta.
Specialization isn't bad, especially when you get into the Gabriel class of player.Yes, and that is why he got $14M guaranteed to play for the Bears for 2 seasons. I don't think he sucks or is bad, he's just one dimensional. TG's only assets are his speed and hands.
Robinson, Gabriel, Miller, Patterson, Ridley, Wims....how can you not find a spot for Ridley?
The Bears picked him in the 4th round. They're the ones who are "high" on him.Because Ridley is not the kind of prospect you make a spot on the roster for. I would not be surprise if Ridley does not make the team. Quite frankly, I'm not all that high on him as a player.
