To get ahead of ourselves. … does Lavi sit Pitlick and break up that 4th line? Or Kakko? When chytil gets back
Glad you brought it up. No way should Pitlick sit. At very least he should rotate in. Obviously Vesey is the offensive "dynamo" on that line so he stays in. Hate to say it Goodrow should be out mostly because the coach loves the Bonino positive effect on faceoffs and pk.

I don't know if sitting Kakko will totally kill his confidence at this point???

Don’t care for the top spot in the standings. Wouldn’t brag about it but as a SUPPORT that the team is playing well.
Panarin line continues to create chances even though their conversion is down since Panarin’s consecutive games scoring record. On top of it their defensive efforts have been superb- feels like Lafreniere already hit at least 1/2 season worth of take aways.
I still don’t like Wheeler with Zibanejad and Bonino with Cuylle & Kakko. I know the obvious answer when Chytil returns is to put him in 3C spot but somewhat unorthodox option would be putting him with Zibanejad and trying Wheeler as 3C.
The 4th line is playing well and should not be tinkered with.

People pretend to be the smartest person in the room all the time and try to turn an unpredictable sport into a science. That's the problem.

It's a f***ing crapshoot every year. Every move this offseason was nay-sayed.
Because almost all fans know nothing and should be happy rooting for the sweater rather than plotting and complaining about the professionals. 1 team wins each year and the naysayer fans for 31 teams think they knew something

this goes to show you how important coaching is. Coaching is a broad term but it's the overall management of the team. From practicing, system and the nuances of the game...

Devils looked like worldbeaters with their counters/rush under Brunette. Now they look like a typical Ruff team.

We looked slow, disinterested and sloppy under Gallant. Now, with Lavi, we are the wagon.... and still not at 100%.

Players still need to execute. Coaches still need to put their players in the best position to succeed.

Bonino - warrior , nhl survivor , outstanding addition.

Pitlick - strong bodied player -solid 12 - 13 guy - could see him scoring on a wraparound to win a playoff game in double OT.

Kakko - I’m a fan I like the kid, but stop defending him. He is stealing money at this point… The only reason why he is in the lineup is because of where he is picked and because the GM doesn’t want to sink his value any further, with news of a demotion.
Stop making excuses for him he is completely out of any NHL shape - he is unprepared to play NHL hockey.
He is also a millionaire I can bet 99% of you, cubicle dwelling ham and Eggers are not, me neither.
I’ve had enough of this guy - time to turn the page.
And he has nobody to believe but himself.
I have seen Pitlick score goals like today and from out further. Has a legit shot.

99%? You might be surprised how many millionaires are in the USA now. A million today is yesterday's $400k :(

@EdJovanovski was right last year. This is a damning indictment against Gallant.

We always bitched about speed. The truth is it is coaching and being in the right position. I never felt we had a slow team, just no plan. Nice to see us flow like that.
we always looked slow because we were never in motion. How we cycle in the O-Zone hasn't been done here in ages. It starts with a gameplan... then you put that theory to practice... Not half assed optional.. but at full speed and make it competitive.

I understand your point but overall as individuals in the past we are not a fast group. We used to have a bunch of real burners in Hags, CK, McD, Moore, Grabner, Brady Skjei, etc. Id still like to have more individual speed.

If I could like this post 1,000 times over I would. Also, to add to this, remember when this team would not show up to start games under Gallant? It was ALL THE TIME.
