As I explained after Game 1, unless someone is injured you DO NOT make line up changes when you’re winning in the playoffs.

Fortunately, Craig Berube is a professional coach and will obviously understand this.
There is no way Berube is going to roll with that bottom six on the road where he doesn't have last change. He benched Robertson and was struggling to figure out a working combination with those collection of players for the third line.

Knies has looked off as well. I have faith both of them will get it going.
He looked slow / tired tonight. He probably wasn't but he looked it.

I mean, we are up 2-0 in the series and we have so many guys who can be better or at worst more consistent. I expect to see that on Thursday. I think the boys will be excited to hit the ice in Kanata and take a stranglehold on this series.

You know he felt great after the miscue reversal behind his net that allowed the tying goal. Leafs hd enough opportunities in the First and Third to win this game but their 2nd period wasn't very good. They need focus on trying to win the next two, try and make it as easy as possible. The killer.instinct needs to arrive now, dont make this series more difficult than it has to be
Ottawa will likely win one game, but this series is done. See what happens between Florida and Tampa and hope that the Leafs get to play a less rested team in the second round.

That is a challenge now, I think the 4th line is excellent. I have liked their game, in both games.

So, if he feels like he need to tinker, then someone has to come in from the bench. Patches or Kampf could both work. David gives more flexibility as he can play C and kill penalties.

People claim Benoit is a poor defenceman based on his advanced stats but like Bieksa said, he’s a perfect 6th defenceman, nothing more and most importantly he knows it. Tough on his man, blocks shots, clears the front of the net. He’s better than Sandin, Liljegren, Dermott and some of the others we’ve had.

I dunno, Knies positioning has been off. Regular season he's a tank in front of their net and batting those rebounds home.

Agreed. I've also never liked his decision-making with the puck on zone entries along the boards. He's a good player but has his limitations and if he's not in front of the net I'm not sure how he's adding a ton of value.

Feels great to win, but there's a lot of problems with how the Leafs played this game.

Willy was nonexistent other than some surprisingly good defensive play at points, I forgot McMann was even on the team until the third, Robertson was awful, Matthews feels like he's gone back to "good but not great" playoff mode, JT with a few weird giveaways and a bad night on the draws.... this game could easily have gone Ottawa's way.

I hope the leafs sweep it. I think they have it in them. Brady’s post game was a sad attempt at trying to convince the fans in Ottawa that they still have belief but his face told the story, that locker room is deflated as hell after losing tonight. Gonna be on the leafs to pounce hard

Advanced stats are for nerds.
