This is the Leafs offense that I'm more use to seeing in the playoffs. Not scoring much and struggling to even get shots to the net. Hope they can get back to their game 1 offense where they were buzzing and looked dangerous compared to tonight where they looked kinda feeble much of the game and had two lucky bounce goals before scoring for real in OT and even that one was pretty lucky with Domi's shot bouncing off the post and in.

Sigh. I guess Domi has to stay in. So, Patches in for Nickey then?

If Pacioretty is healthy, I would put him in the lineup over Robertson for next game.

I think the days of those leafs are over. It’s not going to happen. If they want to win, they have to play like this, because when you give them the keys to go full throttle offense they completely stop thinking about the defensive side of the puck. This is the most risk adverse version of the leafs and it feels good not to be on the receiving end of some unnecessary back breaking goal.

I look at Edmonton last night as a prime example of why playing that was will never lead to success. Edmonton storms back to tie the game last night but they start doing fancy crap in the offensive zone in the last minutes on an extended shift by McDavid and Draisaitl and they give up a horrible goal on a bad give away.

Yeah if Edmonton can't even get away with that with god-mode McDavid and Drai in the playoffs then we sure as hell can't either.

Very ineffective. He might have the most drastic peaks and valleys of any player on the team and that is saying something.

Probably because he is a Leafs homer and Sportsnet can’t have that in Toronto ( but are seemingly fine with homerism anywhere else).

We had some good chances. Marner hitting the post, Tavares on a breakway, Jarnkrok last minute of the game

It's not like we generated nothing. Some missed calls against us as well

Matthews has been playing ok, but he needs to score

He's been good, but McCabe, Tanev, OEL and Carlo have all been excellent too... hell even Rielly has been good.

He is just doing his thing, and when the rest of the guys are steady, that just makes it easier for everyone. He is taking advantage of it, and I am not taking anything away from him.

Also because the Ottawa end was the closer end to his bench it was a lot easier for him to change if it didn't go.

This is a story as old as time. Joe wanted to do all Leaf games. TSN was fine with it, SN said no. So he said, well, then I want to do ALL Leafs games on the radio. And so it is.

That being said, there’s room for improvement. The leafs can get more offensive zone time and cycle more. They started doing it again in the 3rd and OT.

I think they are scared to make a mistake offensively haha. Berube has probably pounded that into them. Dump in, no cheating for offense. But you still gotta get some offensive pressure, can’t be ultra tentative.

I’m okay with low scoring games as long as we are tight defensively.

Especially with names. Other day he called Nylander, Robertsson

Loved Benoit on the leaping superman screen. Great OT, Benny and Domi on 4 Sens. What a snipe off the post and in. Sens were better tonight (hard not to be after game 1) but no loser point in the playoffs, so Sens go back empty pockets, all those hits and effort for nothing. Loved Stolarz tonight.

He took that dumb penalty, got benched for 10 mins. Next shift out he falls in the offensive zone over himself, gets benched again for another 10 mins. Next shift out gets a GA. Brutal for him
