After the first 2 goals it seemed we just played to protect for like 50 minutes. Glad Domi bailed us out in OT. I was really hoping after those first 2 we would just go for the kill and try to drive Ulmark out of the game, but we didn't get a shot after that goal for awhile and allowed him to get settled. Obviously, very happy to be up 2-0 in the series, but that wasn't an encouraging game.

Psychologically the Leafs looked like they were protecting a 4-0 lead. By that I mean the near goals Marner and Jarkrok almost scored when Ottawa was in full meltdown mode. Protecting that kind of lead over 50 minutes, yeah ok. But 2-0? You need to crack that open to 3-0 or 3-1 to really cook. They almost froze their own offense but good thing Max Domi had some dramatics in him.

Alls well that ends well but we can’t have 2nd periods like that. I liked our first and third period. Domi redeemed himself but he had a pretty poor game. Robertson should sit next game. That line can’t be trusted in our own zone.

I'd bring Patches in for Robby .. give Patches a chance to get his legs and his vet experience will be helpful on the road next game.

Ott didn't have a shot for 17 mins, including the first 15 mins of the third period.

Leafs had a few chances to make it 3-1 and couldn't.

The Leafs played far from poor in the third.

Ullmark had a .887 save percentage coming into this series. His .750 save percentage in the first game was brutal, but he bounced back tonight with a .857. Well done!

Honestly he just looks like a guy who is rattled, even the basic shots.. his rebound control was atrocious, that’s why everybody is saying “shoot the puck” this guy is like Skinner jr. He’s going to give up secondary chances. I thought we were terrible at getting the puck to the net after the first. In Ottawa we gotta play road style!!!! Get greasy, get to the crease, Ullmark is clearly rattled. He hasn’t made a single big save yet

I'm with you. Just waiting for a 30 shot performance and M&M & Willy to really dominate 5v5. Imo, Willy is better than any Sen but I haven't seen it yet. M&M should be dominating the offensive zone but again I haven't seen it yet.

I think the days of those leafs are over. It’s not going to happen. If they want to win, they have to play like this, because when you give them the keys to go full throttle offense they completely stop thinking about the defensive side of the puck. This is the most risk adverse version of the leafs and it feels good not to be on the receiving end of some unnecessary back breaking goal.

I look at Edmonton last night as a prime example of why playing that was will never lead to success. Edmonton storms back to tie the game last night but they start doing fancy crap in the offensive zone in the last minutes on an extended shift by McDavid and Draisaitl and they give up a horrible goal on a bad give away.

That third was near perfection. Did need the goal to go up by 2... and they only scored because of the mistake.

I find it hard to complain about their effort.

Let’s all take a moment to congratulate Brady Tkachuk for “sniping” his first career playoff goal.

SEVEN (7) seasons in the league and he he’s managed to score ONE (1) postseason goal.
