Speculation: Based on the past 3 games are the Bruins now buyers or sellers on March 1st?

Hate to be a Buzzkill but these numbers are very damming against the B's

as of right now

Bruins record vs Current playoff teams in NHL

8-18-2 53 Point Pace
5-11-2 vs current East playoff teams
3-7-0 vs current West playoff teams

Bruins record vs teams in NHL currently not in the playoff picture

21-5-4 126 Point Pace

This team crushes the bottom half of the league and can't beat good teams where the best of the worst currently

We have 12 games left against Current playoff teams and 12 games left against non playoff teams

I didn't know we where this bad against playoff teams until I just checked has me rethinking about this team adding to its roster

We are still sellers. Don't be fooled by a bit of a hot run. Bruins have been doing it all season. Look good for 2-3 games and then look like sh!te the next 2-3 games.

No short term band aid rentals please. That will just waste our assets.

We need to dump players who are not part of the "core" going forward.

And if we make any additions, they better factor into the long term outlook for the team - as in do you see them helping the team still 3-5 years from now.

I highly doubt they were ever going to sell.

not sure there`s a ton of interest from other teams with the B`s roster of players that DS is likely willing to move

I think DS would trade

K Miller
Quaider
Moore
Nash
Hayes

While I think there are teams who would look at the first 4 and be able to use them as solid depth on a deeper team, none would provide with a major return and Hayes....ugg

Team playing with some jump under the new coach for sure. Does not change the prognosis imo, sell the fat, let the kids play.

I think that Neely is going to force them to buy. This little win streak will serve as the impetus. They should wait for the West Coast trip though. That should be their reality check, but it won't be and they will overpay for whatever they get.

Like he forced them to fire Clode.

When the B's win the cup, Sweeney will win executive of the year. But we'll all know it was Cam.

You sell anyone who isn't in the future plans. I don't think you add anything or lose anything of significance because, from what I can tell, our prospects may void any holes in the lineup that we currently have, as early as next year.

Oh they are buying but it's not going to be overpriced rentals that smell like they been in a plastic bag for years

It will be like the rumors we been hearing with Colorado

Maybe a backup goalie is khudobin sucks in one of his final couple of pre trade deadline starts

If they deal for landeskog that's buying for the present and future

The bend over deals of last year is not happening

They shouldn't be buyers but Jacobs wants a playoff appearance so he can make a profit. 10 dollar beers means they will trade every prospect if that's what is required to make the playoffs.

I worry that Julien going to Habs will have Neely demanding we buy both to save his job and his ego.

JJ may have approved Habs talking to Julien out of decency to Claude or just because of money -- or both

Either way, if Habs run off a couple of wins after bye week, the egos at the top will put DS in a really tough position.

Pray the Habs continue to slide for any number of reasons -- not the least of which I despise that team.

Worried.

Neely had no say when Montreal wanted to speak with Julien

No, I know that -- if you look at my post I specifically referred to Jacobs giving ok. Either way I think you missed my point.

Neely was clearly anti-Claude.

Pressure just amped up on him because whether B's (Jacobs) had any choice but to say yes to Molson, it's still embarrassing to have a universally respected coach go to your arch rival almost immediately after you fire him.

I say again, if Habs start playing better (even under new coach bounce) pressure will amp up big time.

Imagine the B's miss playoffs for third straight season and Habs have a good playoff run with your old coach.

Hold firm Donny..... intense pressure from Neely and Jacobs to do something for PO's THIS SEASON may well be incoming.

I think your view makes the distance. If Julien does have success while Bruins no so.... the pressure on Neely, and Sweeney will be intense. I agree with you.

The Habs are already in first place, ahead of the B's (who were a borderline playoff team under Julien). This same B's team collapsed down the stretch under Clode in the previous two seasons.

Why would there be any more pressure to win and succeed in the playoffs than there always is?

And why is it embarrassing for the B's because Clode went to Montreal? The Bruins didn't want him as their head coach any longer. Just because he's a good fit somewhere else (remains to be seen) it doesn't mean that he was the right guy here.

Time to start worrying about our team and not what the Habs are doing with the B's hand me down coach.

I do not get why the Bruins could not just wait till seasons end to let Claude go where he wants They do not owe him no favors He got paid millions of dollars and Bruins had most of this years salary paid alrwady I imagine . You never ever help your hated arch rivals.Someone was afraid to look bad in media..Might blow up in Bruins faces.Hope not.

The Bruins are scared **** less of 3 things

1. Missing the playoffs

2. Their third line

3. Montreal/Claude success

Jeremy made this call on an owner to owner thing - I'm sure JJ was happy to not have to pay Claude for next year; who knows what if anything that means about Neely

Landeskog strengthens 1 & 2 above if they get him

The last week changed everything- they were dead in the water

Then came

The firing

The garbage press conference

The Cam interview & earned media and fan bashing

A 3 game winning streak

Claude to Montreal

They ain't sellers unless they lose 3 or 4 on this trip
