Barzal or Dobson who Would You Rather See Traded

If they somehow managed to land Marner I actually think they should keep Barzal.

While I know you can make it work getting rid of other contracts, I think getting a young cheap ELC player who can play in our top 6 might be better in the long run.

Also I find Barzal and Marner's skillsets somewhat similar so they sort of become redundant, which is why I would keep Horvat over Barzal.

I think that makes sense, I just think depth is such an issue with this team that I'd stick with a Marner/Barzal/Horvat combination, especially with Nelson's departure. Horvat and Barzal down the middle is a good 1-2 punch.

Keeping Barzal would definitely make us better the next 2-3 years, I am guessing Marner would play with Horvat making that the line that gets the oppositions top line assignment thus leaving Barzal in the Brock Nelson role of getting lighter assignments hopefully helping his production

While I dream of a Hagans-Eiserman 1-2 punch, Eiserman might be just the right guy for Barzal as well, especially if teams are focusing on Marner.

Exactly. Splitting up Marner/Barzal creates match up issues this team hasn't seen since Tavares left, which was also Barzal's best year in point production.

If the new GM prefers to get younger and try to grow a new core then trading Barzal makes more sense if there's something attractive to get.

Yeah maybe best might be getting rid of Pelech. While I am not as sour on him as many on this board, I realize that contract probably won't age well and we still might be at a point that a team desperate enough to improve their defense might take him on.
