My only concerns are the losses of 53 and 12. They are so important to the team and we do not have anyone else like them. hopefully can be addressed in the summer.
Yeah ideally they’ll start there D core this summer with 77 8 78 88 as the top 4 but they’ll have to likely upgrade 8 to either a 05 OA or trade for another Bertucci type player in the offseason who’s an 06 D man. Don’t know how many options they’ll be but a guy like Fischer in sarnia may be available if they aren’t ready to go for it till the following year when he won’t be around. Or if akey is back then they won’t have to worry to much abt a top 4 D man right away.

I am interested to see how Vader developed this season in Jr. A. Also wondering if Emerton would consider signing. Both of those players will have a learning curve but have good potential to play in puck moving roles.

Those 2 will have a chance at making the team next year Emerton if he wants to as I think he’s better than Vader. And Barton the 2nd rounder from last year I would think makes it for sure next season aswell

I agree that all three will have the chance to make the team. I think Vader may be a better two way defender, and Emerton may have more offensive potential. Vader being a year older and having two years of Jr. A experience might be a little more game ready. Barton seems like he will develop as a defensive, hard to play against defender to compliment a guy like Emerton. Hopefully Passmore takes another step next season and can be our go-to shut down guy and a mentor for a guy like Barton.

Can anyone provide some info of Gabriel Eliasson?

Like how he's doing, good and bad stuff, how he projects, etc...?

Super super raw prospect for sure. Skates fairly well for his size and when he keeps it simple he’s pretty good. He’s one of those guys the least u see him during a game the better. The physicality is great when he’s under control but often times he likes to get the extra hit in after the pucks gone and has gotten a ton of pentalies because of that. He limits the penalties and he has a shot of being a bottom 6 nhl d man but even that won’t happen for another 3-4 years imo. I would assume he’s back in Barrie next year before going to the Ahl

The other thing to note is because of his size there have been a number of penalties called as the result of those checks. However, I agree that he is very raw and will probably be back next year and if he can control his temperament he will become a really good shut down defender.

For sure and other teams know that and try to bait him into pentalies. Smart move by opponents I also think Eliasson always looks better when he’s with akey aswell.

Hoping the Colts can pick up at least 4 of 6 pts this weekend, anything less and 1 st place will probably not be attainable as they have no head to head games against the other top 3 teams in the conference.

No idea why Marty started Hillebrandt tonight for his 3rd straight start Hrebik is literally leading the league in save percentage unless your thinking your just gonna concede tonight and focus on the Soo and Sudbury. Hillebrandt played some mirror hockey in Michigan for little ceasers so maybe that’s why but didn’t work out well.

I understand Marty wants to get his more experienced goalie going before the playoffs; however, it should not be at the expense of an important two points. Hrebik is the better goalie-full stop. The team plays better in front of Hrebik. He needs to pull his sky piece outa his waste management hole and do what's best for the TEAM !

Gotta think it was cause Hillebrandt was originally from port Huron before moving to Florida when he was 15. Still don’t know how’s there’s any world he plays 3 in a row before Hrebik gets in 1 game but oh well. Back to back tonight obviously has to be hrebiks night tonight hopefully get a win. 1st place is unlikely unless they can get both wins this weekend

Starting to get frustrating watching this team get heavily outplayed by bottom teams and only having a chance to win due to incredible performances in goal almost every night.

Not sure why the Colts can’t seem to string passes together and get setup in the offensive zone.

That second period was just a constant cycle of getting hemmed in their own zone then dumping the puck in just to have the next line get hemmed in until the cycle repeats or they get scored on or rely on a big save.

I get these teams are motivated to win to make the playoffs but Barrie should be motivated as well to get a better seeding.

Marty needs to find a way to get this team to play good regardless of competition. This team often just plays to competition instead of beating up on a weaker team which they should be doing. Can’t remember the last time they won a game convincingly. Hrebik is unreal tho gonna be hard to not go for it next year when u got him between the pipes.

Emerton signs today good signing for next year will more than likely come in next year play on the 3rd pair and play second pp would be my guess. D core next year could look like
Aitcheson Akey/OA/06 Trade
Eliasson Passmore
Handsor Emerton
Vader Barton

Pretty good d core and u could add Armstrong to that list but he’s committed to go to school next year so will see if that happens or not.

This team is poorly outta shape and that’s completely on Marty they look much slower than their opponents every game.

Team is never ready to start on time as usual. Theres no chance this team is winning anything with Marty behind the bench just like the Clarke era.
