Likely the two seconds and two thirds they have left then they are without a second or third until 2029
Probably. Next year I assume they do the tear down with guys like Beaudoin. May be a rough year for them next year but this would put them as the big favourite in the east imo. I’ve seen first hand just how good that north bay line was as a fronts fan.

Could probably should be a two year run

Maybe if they swap Wigle for someone like Newton. Or 2,3 and a few other picks along those lines. Romani alone could return 6 plus picks and a 08

I think Romani is worth Vaughn, or 2(2,3,4); maybe some additional conditional picks

Will be tough to do without a lot of picks and without the ‘08 first rounder

And

Jelsma
Wakely
Akey
Bertucci
Gardiner
Hemming and Eliasson possibly

However they still have

Beaudoin
Aircheson
Hillebrandt
Patterson
Hemming and Eliasson possibly
Bode Stewart
The newtons
And Hrebik should be better

Tiller should be there. Another ‘06 in Passmore. Barrie would probably have the best 19 yr old group in the league if the imports return.
But they would need a bit of good fortune with OAs and contributions from some of the 2007-08 born

Yeah true

Also the NCAA thing I wonder if that changes anything, still a long time until next season so I’m sure there may be a surprise or two.

Also a guy like William Moore, if he were to come over I would have to assume next year would be better than switching leagues in his draft year and probably getting reduced minutes (bottom 6) on a great colts team

Personally I hope they keep Vaughan as he’s gonna be a good player in this league but Romani and vansteensel would be nice. On that list I know Gardiner is a 3rd round pick but isn’t signed and I doubt he will so I do think he’s got a good chance to come back as a OA.

Colts win 4-0 in Owen sound. Hrebik is absolutely solid 45 save shutout this kid is really on a roll. The luxury of having 2 number 1 goalies heading into the playoffs will be a huge advantage for the colts in a deep playoff run. The list above shows names that’ll be big impact players for the colts next year but Hrebik wasn’t on that list and he could easily be the colts #1 next year if they decide to move Hillebrandt to get some picks back and not waste a OA on a goalie if Hrebik is a top 5 goalie in the league next year as a 06 born. A lot to like a lot to look forward too

Does anyone know if Zack Wigle has a trade clause? I don’t think he does, but somebody is insistent that he does.

I don’t know if he does or doesn’t but u could see why he wouldn’t accept a trade to a rebuilding north bay team in his OA season. May have to try and add a 3rd team to the trade to get the deal done if the rumours are true about Vaughan Wigle and picks for Romani and OVS. I like the trade as a colts fan if it happens cause it makes the team better but I definitely hope romani is back as a OA next year or i don’t know how much I like it long term. I’m assuming the deal would have some conditional picks for that reason but we shall see if the trade happens after the break or not.

If Wigle is the hold up would it not make more sense for the trade go through without Wigle and then just cut him afterwards? I can't imagine there's a no-cut clause, so unless it's just about doing right be the player, I wouldn't think he'd have much leverage.

A little disappointed in our effort last night. I felt like some of our players maybe underestimated Niagara from the onset. I actually think it's a good thing to have this team face a little adversity at this early stage of the season. Hopefully, it'll make them realize not to take any teams lightly.

Two of my biggest takeaways from yesterday's game :
1. Niagara is a very good skating team
2. We have some players that simply are not competing right now. We cannot afford to have any passengers.

Maybe VanSteensel wants to end his OHL as the battalion captain. He ‘loves being around his best friends in the world’.

Yeah the more I think about it the more I think it’s Vaughan not wanting the deal to happen. I don’t know why he wouldn’t tho north bay is gonna be better than Barrie in the important years of his career maybe pretty even teams next year but the following 2 years north bay should be a better team while Barrie rebuilds. That would make the trade impossible to happen if he refuses. Your right if Wigle is not willing than u could probably make the trade happen without him included and cut him or trade with a 3rd party to get the deal across the line. For example Wigle is from Oakville and if he gets traded he might want to be moved to a team closer to home not further.

Colts sweep the back 2 back with North Bay. I love Hillebrandt but Hrebik is the real deal in net wouldn’t have a problem with him being number 1 tender next year

Tough test tonight with Oshawa in town and the Colts missing so many top players ( 4). Hrebik will have to be at the top of his game and the boyz need to stay out of the penalty box to have any chance.

Wondering what rumour to believe on acquisitions.... Pinelli or the tandem of Romani and Van Steensel from NB. Definitely need a sniper and really don't wanna part with Vaughn; however, we don't have the draft picks to make either deal happen without him involved.

Really thought the Gennies would win this one. Colts are on a different level than the Generals. Oster is not good enough this year to carry this team on his back. Barrie has 2 good goalies and Marty should be confident now in playing either one against any team. Secondary scoring is the key to the success this year. One Colt cracks the top 50 in scoring. Bring in a pure sniper and a bottom six player with playoff experience and this team should win the East.
Lots of hockey to be played, hopefully they stay healthy and continue to gel.

The colts have shooters. Another forward that can pass/shoot on a level approaching Wakely would be ideal imo. I like the Musty or VanSteensel/Romani options myself.
If Vaughn is unwilling to waive his NTC, Hrebik becomes the colts’ most intriguing trade option; he might be already.

I don’t think u can trade Hrebik I think having 2 great goalies is a huge advantage in a deep playoff run.

I think Marty’s main target will be a top 6 winger options being Pinelli or Romani. I personally would rather Romani is were trading away Vaughan which is inevitable when getting a top end player so Romani is a more intriguing option for me because he does have a chance at coming back next year as a OA. Second target Marty should have is upgrading Wigle that’s why a lot of people were excited about the rumours about the north bay trade with Romani and OVS coming to Barrie in exchange for Wigle Vaughan and picks. Whether that trade happens or not Marty will definitely do something to make this team better. The last target I think they should look for is a 6-7 D man that’s a vet that could fill in if someone on the back end of someone goes down. Handsor is young and isn’t someone I would trust in the playoffs getting a regular shift that’s for sure. Blair Scott or Horner is Ottawa could be options there. Anyways a lot of look forward to with this team down the stretch into the playoffs.
