Furlong? Definitely not. Guy's been in and out of our lineup the past few weeks. Though I don't agree with that decision.

Good game from Muk today, while I'm on the topic. 2 assists.
Just saw how they listed the defensive pairings and was surprised to see Furlong's pairing first. Maybe it doesn't mean anything.

The Barracuda have, quietly, won five of their last six, with the only loss being Wednesday's shootout loss to San Diego. We've only given up two goals total in our past three games, too. We've got to play the Firebirds one more time, this time @ Coachella on Thursday.

Great game from Bordeleau today, along with the goal he put beat out an icing call towards the end that pretty much secured the win. He gutted that one out.

If I were to mention one thing that they might need to address soon, it's that the top line of Gushchin-Poturalski-Graf hasn't been great as a unit as of late. In fact they haven't even gotten on the scoresheet in seven games. All their individual points have been away from each other or on the power play. Maybe time for a shakeup there?

I read that Muhk got switched to the right side and promptly played a really good game. Is that true? Did he look good there? Muhk on the right side would be really huge, actually.

I only caught the 2nd and 3rd periods but he looks amazing carrying the puck. He can cover the defensive and neutral zone in like three strides. It's fun to watch. Defensive play is still concerning. He tends to lose coverage in front of the net and bails on the puck against forechecking pressure.

half of that is good to hear! I would love to see him on the big club, if only because I kinda think Warsofsky is a better development coach than our Cuda team.

I don't really think it had anything to do with the move to the right, but both goals yesterday happened because he put the puck on net. His offense has been slow to come back around, so that's a good start. He's been playing well regardless.

I was a little skeptical of pairing him with Lucas Carlsson, but Carlsson's play has been getting a lot stronger as he's getting more games with us. I wouldn't mind seeing these be our D pairings for the time being.

Right, I guess I don’t need him to be better on the right, but if he’s just as good, I think moving him over would be really valuable (and help him break into the NHL).

Right. If he looks good on RD for a few more games, his chances of getting called up get higher. Would also immensely help our RD depth

Givani Smith clearing waivers means we've got one veteran too many now, so we'll have to see how they manage that. The only vets that I think might see their usage affected by this are Colin White and Scott Sabourin. White's already eaten a few scratches. Sabourin started slow, as he does, but has had a pretty good recent run of games.

I also wouldn't rule out Cardwell coming down and Justin Bailey getting called up to the Sharks. Bailey's been arguably our most effective forward lately.

Givani is headed to Colorado, problem solved.

Scott Sabourin looks like he's out for blood, which is not a good thing. He takes a cross-checking penalty. He's been going after McKinnon repeatedly.

Colin White also blocked a shot which looked like it stung him, he wasn't out for the PK like he usually is.

I guess this game is being broadcast on a local NBC affiliate in their area.

No score after one, shots 8-7 Cuda, not a lot of flow. Cuda are on a 4-on-3 power play for 1:15 to start the first.

Was not a fan of the embellishment call on Vincent, since he hit the deck easily on a retaliatory cross-check from Ottavainen. You can't just call that as one penalty apiece, that's ridiculous.

I have Comcrap which channel use the SD channel number I am more familiar but still the HD channel number can work/ I look through guide (so familiar with that side) using SD part of guide and find which HD channel I need.

Our DVR when you enter SD number auto tunes to HD

Looked it up and I guess NBC Palm Springs actually broadcasts all of their home games. That's pretty cool.

Their intermission had a feature on the Kraken's last game with Florida, which made me wonder if they're Seattle Kraken fans down in Palm Springs.

--

Gushchin scores on the power play to start the period, Cuda up 1-0.
