We played San Diego once before on 11/13, and that game was the one where Askarov made 48 saves and we squeaked out a 2-1 win.

Based on extremely small sample size, it doesn't really feel like we play well against the Gulls. They don't give us a lot of space, and there's too many hope plays by us. Which is a shame, because these are points we should be winning.

Ethan Frisch got hit by a puck in the first period, played through the second, but then was gone from the bench sometime during the third. Hopefully nothing serious.

it's a bad sign when the recap video is 80% shootout

Teddy Bear Toss tonight. Cuda face the Firebirds, who have been doing very well since we faced them at the end of October and are tied with us on points for second in the Pacific.

It's our first of three straight games against these guys (tonight, tomorrow and then Thursday we're @ Coachella), and then we face them again on the road on Wednesday the 18th. Four times over the next two weeks. Let's get some of that AHL animosity going.

What’s up with Bordeleau? His offensive numbers seems to have fallen off a cliff.

He has just not looked like himself since coming back from injury. Just doesn't pop out at all when you watch him play this season. Really bad year for him to be like this.

I have liked the Bordeleau-Bystedt-Bailey line of late, but that's mostly because I love the combo of Bystedt and Bailey, admittedly.

I wonder if Bordeleau is pouting about being in the AHL.

The decision to send him down to start the year basically got made by default because Bordeleau was injured all through camp, so I don't see how he could be pouting about that. He also got signed to what's basically a minimum one-year contract and makes very little here in the AHL, so making Grier's decision to keep him down here easier doesn't make a lot of sense.

I don't think Grier likes him anyway, and I'm expecting him to be a throw-in to a trade at the deadline. This season has been pretty much worst case scenario for Bordeleau so far.

He is essentially a PP specialist but there are already 4 FWs who probably deserve PP time over him so he just isn’t able to put up points. I have always thought his ceiling is AAAA player like Poturalski.
