Like is Bob bringing the entire Florida roster with him and who’s Edmontons Barkov? Prior to finals I didn’t understand that having the best defensive forward in the game doesn’t affect a goalies performance one bit

I mean, maybe the end outcome would change. But it would not be a sweep, that's too extreme. Skinner did not play bad at all. And it's the defense played in front of the goalies that matters just as much. And both teams played good defense, for the most part.

It's almost like Barkov's value came by neutralizing the best player in the world when matched up.
Barkov could of scored zero points for all I care. He shut down McDavid when it mattered the most.

Florida was built to not need Barkov to play Selke level defense and have to be Rocket Finalist.

Both teams PK did a great job, Oilers better, but Florida will take that all day as the Powerplay was more of a factor for the Oilers than the Panthers.

Guy is laugh emoji’ing like Barkov didn’t shut him down game 7 to win the series. Lmao. Oh well well enjoy our cup. You guys enjoy the Conn Smythe being losers!

Skinner is not the reason they lost imo. It's hard to win a series when your two best players go cold in 5 of the 7 games.

Let's be serious here. McDavid faced Talbot, Rittich, and Silovs to start the playoffs. Those guys aren't exactly world beating goalies....

Panthers faced Vasilevski, Swayman, and Shesterkin. It's not even comparable.

It's fine pumping McDavid for the point totals, he broke records etc. and you can count the points easily. But Barkov completely shut down five of the top seven scorers in the playoffs (McDavid, Drai, Panarin, Pastrnak, Kucherov) when they were on the ice together. That's insane and probably an all-time defensive effort in the playoffs even if there's no counting stats to prove it.

One 5v5 points in the four losses, I couldn't care less if he blows the lid off for only two games out of a best of 7.

I’m extremely happy he got to become a champion and receive the praise he deserved.

He was the Conn Smythe from runner before he took the Draisaitl flying elbow and looked a bit off afterwards.

There should have been zero defence for that one, he isn’t some ratty player who skirts the line. He’s a well respected player who has won the Lady Byng in addition to the Selkes, why on earth would anyone defend a hit like that?

Karmic justice that the Panthers got this one.
