It might seem healthy to start a playoff season by throwing positive energy into the support of an adopted team, but upon contemplation it’s actually spiritually damaging to see anyone else happy while your team is out of the playoffs.

With that in mind, I know why to hate some teams and players:
  • Vegas gets creative with the concept of injury
  • Florida gets favorable officiating
  • Toronto’s sale went to benefit the lowest of the low: schoolteachers
  • Kucherov is as dirty as he is good
  • Mackinnon hates carbs
  • Crosby killed that goofy kid from the bread commercial in a boating accident and covered it up
These are all objectively true and legitimate reasons to hate, but they’re played out. I think it would be beneficial to a true hater to hear more mundane wrongs to fuel perpetual contempt. In my case, for example:
  • Taylor Hall expending zero effort in his time in Buffalo
  • Hudson Fasching kicking a goal in that pretty much knocked the Sabres out of a tight playoff race
  • Sam Reinhart cutting me off in traffic once
  • The Capitals selling a huge parlay
What petty reasons do you have to hate teams and players?

When my teams are out of it , I really
Don’t care too much. Sure Kings and Devils are my rival teams but my teams aren’t playing so no reason to really even care too much.

I’ll usually jump on a bandwagon team I like or a player who was traded from my team, I will root for them.

Don’t dislike any team, so moot subject. If it’s not my team I couldn’t care less about other teams Canadian or American.
