I often catch myself saying Hank and I'm stared at all confused.
Try that Hunk

I will be in Koster this summer. When the Koster Rangers fans goes up by 100 % I guess something is going on.
Link to this shirt? I would like to buy one if it becomes available again.
Come by the Hotel Koster on The Islands and ask for the Managing Director there. HE will buy you a beer. Heard he is a great NYR fan![]()
I've never heard anyone who actually paid attention to the team call him henry. Everyone calls him hank, but henry? That reeks of "well, it sounds like henry in the background on TV."Except, more than enough die-hards, me included, call him "Henry", and "Henke", and "Hank", and "Hen", and "Henny", and "King", and my personal favorite (used since October 2005) "the best ****ing goalie I've ever ****ing seen".
Both Hen-ry and Hen-rik are acceptable, sounds more like Hen-ry than Hen-reek. Who do you know that speaks his name "HenrEEK" anyway?
So get off that macho AH BS. Anytime a Rangers fan acts like a Flyers or Devils fan (barely a difference), I want to choke them!
All joking aside, improper fail call. Same **** really.
I love going into the Walgreens here in Deerfield and see the NY Post, and who's on the cover![]()
Edit.I've never heard anyone who actually paid attention to the team call him henry. Everyone calls him hank, but henry? That reeks of "well, it sounds like henry in the background on TV."
Not to mention that they used to put the chant up on garden vision and spell it out. But, if you insist that the die hard fan is actually chanting henry then I guess I'll take your word for it.
They're technically not wrong. The English translation of Henrik is, in fact, Henry. It's not like they're yelling "Harvey" or something.
King Henry - ya know, the 16th century English dude, Henry VIII??
Who knew! Someone should inform the desperate-to-sound-elite that the chant was started before they spelled it for those from jersey.
Really, while it irks me a lil that it seems die hards refuse the V in his name, but im not going to question their loyalty or knowledge. Especially if i know it really doesn't matter. But those people get the K right. Go figure.
Never thought the tristate area was big on spelling or pronunciation in the first place.
is it my desperation to sound elite, or you being insulted by the fact that you are guilty of a minor indiscretion? do tell me from south florida since you feel the need to bring up the fact that i live in NJ now.
i'm pretty sure the name came from one of the papers calling him the king of new york early on, ya know like the walken movie?
"hey you, ****head" before blowing off david caruso's head sounds a lot more NY to me than "once more unto the breach, dear friends."
i'll try to let go of my pet peeves since i clearly hurt some feelings. chant whatever you want, call him whatever you want, just root for the team.
If the Rangers make it to the SCF, it'll get nuts around here, probably more so than in 1994. And it's all good with me. I don't mind bandwagon fans. It doesn't affect me in the slightest. I hope to see some Ranger hysteria real soon!
