Bakersfield Condors 24-25 thread

Another thing that you will not see on the score sheet, Savoie made a mother of a back check to temporarily neutralize an odd man rush while on the PP. Henderson ended up scoring but it was definitely not because of a lack of try from Savoie. His puck skills and hockey IQ are both great at this level. I really look forward to seeing what he can do after a solid offseason of training.

I only watched the highlight package but I assume your mentioning the play where he timed the pass and dove to deflect the pass away from a near sure goal.

Savoies defensive ability has been a very bright spot this season. Love that he is playing with that much intensity defensively this early in his career. I was a huge McLeod fan but Savoie's ceiling is higher and id be surprised if he didn't reach it

I didn't see the replay (so I'm not sure how much of his backchecking they showed) but he busted his tail all the way from the offensive zone and gained a lot of ground to do just that.

Henderson unravelled going after Hamblin for some reason.

Copponi with a nice takeaway in the offensive zone before a wraparound-attempt-turned-pass.

Eyes to the OOT scoreboard.

I wouldn't mind them giving Mayhew an AHL deal for next year.

The dude will never be an NHLer at 5'8'', but he's great at this level.

edit: There's a beauty pass by Mayhew on Griffith's goal. 4-0 Bako.

Really nice touch on that last goal from the ECHL defenseman of the year.

I hope they bring back Carrick, he's fit in really well, but it's getting crowded and they got other RD options to retain.

Leppanen - Brown
Dineen - Akey
Carfagna - Carrick

3-2 Tucson.

Colorado isn't helping out much. Resting most of their roster and starting their recent NCAA goalie signing in his AHL debut, but they're making a game of it.

I’d keep Regula or Kemp over Carrick personally. Regula they obviously saw something in to claim on waivers so I’d like to see what he can do in some game action with Bako, and Kemp would be a better stylistic fit with all the puck movers they’ve brought in to play there next year. They’re also 25 and 26 so there’s still room to grow arguably, Carrick is what he is at 31 now.

I don't have any qualms of keeping any, I suppose I just like to idea of stapling Akey and Carfagna to mentors/partners. And Carrick (& Dineen) were so critical to Bako's offense. I agree they'll want to see what they have in Regula and I'd keep Kemp but I wonder if he wants another opinion/look.

having Brown on the top pairing is no bueno. He’s barely an AHL d at this point. Rather him be a healthy scratch so we can have a guy that might have a future play instead.
