Bakersfield Condors 24-25 thread

The Condors are in a very tight battle for the last playoff spot! One point down on Tucson with a game in hand. Theoretically they have the easier schedule, with Tuscon having two more games vs Colorado, the top team in the division. But who knows if Colorado plays their full roster in those last two games if they have sown up the division. BAK has two vs Henderson. They need to win both those games and at least one of the other two to have a realistic chance.

50 points as a rookie in the professional ranks for Savoie. Great stuff.

And he's +19 on a pretty average hockey team. That speaks to his rep about being defensively responsible.

Yeah, I think his AHL stats, comments around his 2-way game, as well as how he looked in his cup of coffee, all point to a player. Likely a middle-six guy, as I'm not sure about enough offence for a top-6 role, but a legit player nonetheless. Especially since he has 2 more years in his ELC, there is pretty much 0% chance that he doesn't play the entire year with the big club next year.

I wouldn't go that far given this team's love for veteran players. That said I would definitely give him a legit shot at a top 9 role and PP2 role.

I think there is a 0% chance he plays the whole year with the big club and probably a 75% chance he starts the year in Bakersfield. Based on the direction this team is going more than anything else. They will send him down to avoid waiving a guy like Janmark.

I really wonder why, on a banged up Oilers team that is struggling to find a full game roster, that he wouldn't be called up? I share your thought about their love for veteran players--even ones who have no hope of scoring.

I really think Bako wants to get into the playoffs to extend their season and give guys like Savoie some pro playoff experience. Tough situation all around though with banged up bodies and depleted lineups on both teams.

Not enough offence? Savoie is 4th in rookie scoring in the AHL.

Some posters have absolutely no idea what they're saying when they post.
