Very impressive defensive approach tonight - jets were very good in their end, even when hemmed a bit.
They gave Minnie next to nothing in shooting angles or passing lanes - and they gave them no time to adjust.
Lots of pressure in all zones - really great to see the Jets shut things down this way against a good opponent.
Helle is probably thanking them all for the effort tonight.

Ehlers was on this game tonight - looked like he had a lot of wind in his sails and wanted the puck. Huge difference maker on the second line.
Top line was buzzing although they had some trouble completing plays - but I thought their dgame was pretty good - and KC is a different player IMO - his dzone game is much more aggressive - he's breaking up plays and finding ways to get more involved. Hope he sticks with the new KC game plan.

The blue line had a good night - not a ton of pressure when the forwards are helping out the way they did tonight. They had more time and were more composed - the 5 man game makes it easier for everyone. Ville had a good game and I'm sure he appreciated the help the d were getting more any any of them. His outlets are solid - that is his obvious strength.

The Wild did not look good - but the Jets were a big reason why.

Shots on net for the game: Minnesota 19, Winnipeg 24. Pretty low event hockey, I guess. I think the least amount of shots we've given up was 14 vs Chicago. Top line only had 2 shots on net, both from Schiefele. Lowry, Ehlers and Morrissey lead the way with 3 a piece.

Solid special teams play. Allowed 0 PP goals (4-0) and got 2 PP goals (2-5)

Only stat that really stands out was giveaways. GIveaways: Minnesota 13, Jets 4.

While not an overly spectacular game and Wallstedt helped out with some iffy goals it was an overall well played game by the Jets.

Yeah that's the kind of defensive game Connor needs to play. He's not going to muscle guys off pucks, but when he's invested he's adept at cutting off passes and harassing the puck carriers in open ice.

That’s what he was like during our streak at the beginning of the year.

He’s a pleasure to watch when he plays like that.

That was a good old fashioned Christmas curb stomp!!

Okay, I gave you a like for that Jets 7-Up poster and just as quickly took it away for the Mariah Carey Christmas song, but after seeking counsel from a priest, my spiritual advisor and the philosophical homeless person at my bus stop I decided to give the like back because the overall good outweighed the bad.

And what's with those sticks, I'm sure they were just props for the shoot; all are Sher-woods with next to no curve and seem to have a ridiculously skinny blade.

It’s nice to get the 2 points but don’t get too high on the win.
Wild were on B2B … 3 games in 4 nights with key injuries.
Just like don’t get down on the Jets when we know key injuries and the schedule leads to bad games at times too.
It was nice to see the Jets get a team that was tired and dealing with injures for once!
A win is a win but a win when the first liners do not score is impressive.

Good going on the secondary and tertiary scoring. Only top line points of the night were Connor and Morrissey with assists on the PP. Perfetti with a 3 point night (1G 2A) and Pionk with 2 points (1G, 1A).

First line wasn't really humming tonight but Names, Nieds, Iafallo and their lines played a solid game and chipped in on the scorecard.

Helle with another shutout; tied with the league lead at 3.

Helle 2nd in the league with a .926% (Stolarz .927% in 9 fewer games), tied for first (with Stolarz) in GAA 2.15. I smell another Vezina

Here are the updated stats showing Helle alone with 4 shutouts and .927. He's looking utterly confident and in control in (and around) the net.

VERY happy to see the point spread grow bigger between Minny and ourselves. Also happy to see Dallas falling like bricks in the standings. Also f*** the Avs.

The Jets are bloody good enough to finish numero uno in the Central, and I won't accept anything less. If they don’t, it means they didn't work hard enough. Full stop.
